Purpose1. The name of this choir is MAGNIFICAT CHAMBER SINGERS.

2. The !rose of these "#$a%s is to he$ the choir s!cceed in its mission to sin& 'od(sraises and to $ead the arish(s mem"ers in sin&in& at )ass.

*. These "#-$a%s are !"$ic information and are avai$a"$e to an#one in the arish %homa# %ish to have access to them.

+. This choir consists of mem"ers, section $eaders, $i"rarians, "!siness mana&er andm!sic director, %hose ro$es and resonsi"i$ities are descri"ed in these "#-$a%s.

Music Director1. The m!sic director is the $eader of the choir and maes the decisions re&ardin& the

m!sic erformed "# the choir.2. eendin& on the sie of the choir if the choir has more than 2+ mem"ers, the

m!sic director ma# "e assisted "# an associate m!sic director, aointed "# them!sic director.

*. The m!sic director se$ects the m!sic to "e s!n& "# the choir, cond!cts rehearsa$s anddirects erformances.

+. The m!sic director a!ditions candidates and instr!menta$ists and assi&ns them tosections.

. The m!sic director aoints the "!siness mana&er and $i"rarian and their associates,if an#.

6. The m!sic director $eads the choir in the mission of sin&in& 'od(s raises and caresfor each mem"er as 3hrist cares for his 4oc.

5. The m!sic director reares the $ist of son&s for each )ass "ased on the scrit!rereadin&s of the )ass and comm!nicates them to the rest of the choir one month inadvance, if ossi"$e.

. 7f the m!sic director, after ra#in& for sirit!a$ &!idance, determines that he or she isnot a &ood 8t for the choir at this arish, he or she %i$$ resi&n his or her osition, to

mae room for someone e$se, for the &ood of the choir.

Business Manager1. The "!siness mana&er s!orts the m!sic director "# eercisin& $eadershi over

matters not direct$# re$ated to m!sic.2. The "!siness mana&er is aointed "# and taes direction from the m!sic director.*. The "!siness mana&er coordinates the decision-main& rocess on matters other

than the m!sic erformed "# the choir.+. eendin& on the sie of the choir if the choir has more than 2+ mem"ers, the

there is one.*. eendin& on the sie of a section if a section has more than 6 mem"ers, the

section $eader ma# "e assisted "# an associate section $eader.+. )em"ers of a section notif# their section $eader if the# %i$$ "e $ate or a"sent from a

serve the Lord in the m!sic ministr# of SAN L!REN"! R#I" <arish.2. Before a candidate =oins the choir, he or she a!ditions %ith the m!sic director, %ho

decides %hether to admit the candidate to the choir and %ho assi&ns the s!ccessf!$candidate to a section of the choir.

*. 7f a mem"er needs to tae time o> the choir, he or she noti8es the section $eader, ifossi"$e, t%o %ees "efore tain& o>.

+. 7f a mem"er needs to resi&n from the choir, for %hatever reason, he or she noti8esthe section $eader, if ossi"$e, t%o %ees "efore $eavin&.. 7t is a &ood idea for the choir to &o on a icnic or other team-"!i$din& activit# once

ever# si months.6. ?nce a #ear, it is a &ood idea for the choir to have a sirit!a$ retreat, for at $east one

da#, %ith a )ass and homi$# and sirit!a$ ta$s and disc!ssions, and the oort!nit#to receive the Sacrament of <enance.

5. 7t is not a &ood idea for mem"ers of the choir to date each other or enter into are$ationshi.

Re$earsa%s1. 7t is a &ood idea to "e&in and end each rehearsa$ %ith a short ra#er, &ivin& thans to

the Lord for the &ift of m!sic, o>erin& the choir(s sin&in& to the Lord and asin& for"$essin&s on the choir(s e>orts. The oenin& ra#er is a$so a &ood time to mentionan# choir mem"ers %ho ma# "e sic or in need of secia$ ra#ers.

2. The choir rehearses at $east once a %ee, in rearation for net S!nda#(s )ass anda$so to $earn ne% m!sic for f!t!re )asses.

*. Rehearsa$s "e&in on time %hen ever#"od# arrives at $east 8ve min!tes "efore thesched!$ed time, and the seats and the sheet m!sic are reared in advance.

. !rin& rehearsa$, to avoid %astin& the &ro!(s time, ever#"od# a#s attention to them!sic director and avoids en&a&in& in conversation %ith others.

9. 7f a mem"er has a @!estion, he or she raises a hand "efore seain&. ?nce thedirector ass the mem"er to sea, ever#"od# $istens to the mem"er %ith resect.

10. As soon as the introd!ction to a son& is "e&!n to "e $a#ed "# the instr!ments,ever#"od# sho!$d "ecome si$ent and $isten to the introd!ction.

11. When the m!sic director, or an#"od# e$se is seain&, no m!sic instr!ments sho!$d"e $a#ed, so that ever#"od# can $isten to %homever is seain& %ith resect.

rehearsa$ for that )ass or concert.. 7f a mem"er cannot articiate in a )ass or concert, for %hatever reason, he or she

2. An# choir mem"er can roose chan&es to these "#-$a%s "# %ritin& do%n theroosed chan&e and emai$in& the roosed chan&e to a$$ the mem"ers forconsideration, asin& for co-sonsorshis.
