OUT OF HOURS WORKSFOOTSCRAY29 SEPTEMBER - 11 OCTOBER
Further to the September construction update distributed this month, we wish to remind you of upcoming out of hours works in your area.
Authorised and published by the Victorian Government, 1 Treasury Place, Melbourne.
Major construction is continuing along the Sunbury Line in preparation for the Metro Tunnel.
Buses will replace trains on sections of the Sunbury Line between Sunday 29 September and Friday 11 October, during which works will take place 24/7 along the rail corridor between Tottenham station and the Maribyrnong River.
To enable service installation and concrete delivery into the rail corridor, temporary traffic changes are required in your area.
What we are doing• Temporarily closing a number of on-street
parking spaces on Joseph Road (20 spaces), Wightman Street (10 spaces), Neilson Place (20 spaces), Warde Street (3 spaces) and Whitehall Street (3 spaces)
• Setting up concrete trucks and pumps on Wightman Street and Neilson Place adjacent to the rail corridor
• Pumping concrete into the rail corridor
• Accessing the rail corridor with construction vehicles on a 24-hour basis via Joseph Road and Warde Street.
When
Joseph Road, Neilson Place, Warde Street and Whitehall Street changes• 7am, Sunday 29 September
to 7pm, Thursday 11 October.
Wightman Street changes• 7pm, Friday 4 October
to 7am, Monday 7 October.
What to be aware of• These works are expected to produce
medium levels of noise and vibration
• During these works, traffic controllers will be present on Wightman Street to manage pedestrian and vehicle movements
• The use of generator-powered lighting towers will be required within the rail corridor during nightworks. We will work closely with residents to manage light impacts
• An increase in construction machinery will be travelling on local roads to access the rail corridor. Traffic controllers will be present at times to assist construction vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist movements around construction sites
• For the safety of rail users and our workers, these activities can only be performed safely when trains are not running.
