Adolescent Substance Abuse Counseling Service What is Adolescent Substance Abuse Counseling Service (ASACS)? Parents also often seek ASACS services because of concerns about their child's adjustment to a new location or school, chronic school difficulties or behavior concerns, and Family management concerns. What services are available? ASACS provides individual, group, and Family counseling. The goal of counseling is to increase protective factors, and decrease risk factors for teens. Some examples of protective factors developed at ASACS are assistance in building of strong bonds and communication with Family, school, and community; as well as development of coping skills, resiliency, and clear values. In addition to counseling services, ASACS counselors teach the Life Skills Training (LST) series to middle school students. Who is eligible? Obama: Congress Should Follow Military's Example President Barack Obama stated during his State of the Union address 24 Jan 2012, that Washington politicians and all Americans can accomplish anything if they follow the example set by U.S. troops. In a speech dominated by domestic concerns, Obama began by commending the example set by members of the Armed Services. “The generation serving in the military today has made the United States safer and more respected around the world, which is a testament to the courage, selflessness and teamwork of America's armed forces. If Congress could follow the troops' example by working together, Americans could build a country that is a leader in education, in industry, in clean energy and in high-tech manufacturing.” Furthermore, Obama promised again to maintain the finest military in the world, as American freedom has endured because men and women in uniform have fought for it. Samil Movement (삼일절)

The March First Movement, or “Samil Movement”, was

one of the earliest displays of Korean independence movements

during the Japanese rule of Korea. The name refers to an event

that occurred on 1 March 1919, hence the movement's name,

literally meaning, "Three-One Movement" in Korean.

It is also sometimes referred to as the “Manse Demonstrations.”

During the series of demonstrations that began that day and

spread throughout Korea, 7,000 people were killed by Japanese

police and Soldiers. The movement was a catalyst for

the establishment of the Provisional Government of the

Republic of Korea in Shanghai in April 1919 and also gave

influence on nonviolent resistance in India and many other

countries. On 24 May 1949, 1 March was designated

a national holiday in South Korea.
