WHAT: Artist Talks + Closing Reception for Illuminate & ALTERNATIVEWHERE: MAINSITE Contemporary Art, 122 E. Main

WHEN: 6 to 10 p.m.ABOUT: MAINSITE Contemporary Art: Home of the Norman Arts Council ushers out group exhibition Illuminate and studio1409’s ALTERNATIVE with a final reception and

artist talks that begin at 6:30 p.m. Illuminate features the work of artists Lindsey Bochniak, Jessica Craddock, Mary James Ketch and Sarah Day-Short. ALTERNATIVE is comprised of portraits of “alternative models” shot using “alternative” (ambrotype) photography. The show includes vintage, large-format glass slides and gallery-sized prints. Norman Arts

Council Individual Artist Award winner Kim Rice — previously seen in the latest OU MFA Thesis Exhibition — will show new works in the Library Gallery.

WHAT: Opening Reception for Noble Laundry Paintings by John BrandenburgWHERE: The Depot, 200 S. Jones

WHEN: 6 to 9 p.m.ABOUT: The Depot Gallery hosts an opening reception for Noble Laundry

Paintings, an art exhibition from John Brandenburg, a longtime Norman artist known for his use of vivid color and organic forms. All the acrylic paintings on

display were created during the hours Brandenburg did laundry at home.

WHEN: 6 to 9 p.m.ABOUT: Dreamer Concepts: A Community Art Space hosts Dreamer 58: Splash of

Color, a collaboration of three Norman artists — Leslie Dallam, Ashley Primm and Carla Waugh — whose styles are different from each other but share an embrace for vibrant

hues to create colorful combinations.

WHAT: What’s A Girl Supposed To Do? by Melissa JacobsWHERE: Dope Chapel, 115 S. Crawford

WHEN: 6 to 10 p.m.ABOUT: Dope Chapel debuts What’s A Girl Supposed To Do?, an exhibition

of new works from Oklahoma City artist Melissa Jacobs. She draws and paints pictures of women, inspired by their representation in popular culture, music,

fashion and self-depiction in social media.

Random Noise, an eclectic series bringing you even more free music during the art walk. This month features the return of surf rockers Poolboy along with Joey Powell’s experimental solo

project Holy Hills. It’ll start at 7:15 p.m. and wrap up before 9!
