Then he invited 38 more. How many friends did Mr. Turkey invite to dinner altogether? Draw a picture, explain the strategy you used to solve the problem, and show the equation. Get your 50’s clothes out and ready for tomorrow. Read guided reader for 20 minutes. Tuesday : How did people dress back in the 50’s? Can you write 5 problems that equal 50? Read guided reader for 20 minutes. Wednesday : Answer these questions in your journal: Who is our Mayor? Who is our Governor? Who is our President? What are two facts about the Denton County Courthouse? Where is the State Capitol? Where is the White House? Why do we need a government? Read guided reader for 20 minutes. Thursday : Do your Student of the Week Page for Grant. Practice your word study words. Read guided reader for 20 minutes. We are learning: Math: We will complete our place value unit this week. We will also continue to solve addition with regrouping problems. The students will complete their final assessment for problem solving using double digit addition. Social Studies: We will complete our Government Unit and take our assessment on Local, State, and National Governments. Science: We will focus on weather and tools to track weather patterns: weather vane, rain gauge, thermometer, etc. We will collect data on rain fall, wind directions, temperature, cloud coverage, and what to wear for different weather days. We will also complete our Properties of Matter Final Assessment. Language Arts: This week students will begin to practice two Readers’ Theaters Plays which Student of the Week Grant Tomorrow is 50’s Day in 2 nd Grade! Wear clothes from the 50’s! Please plan ahead and begin looking for a cowboy or cowgirl outfit for your child to wear to school on Thursday, November 20 th . We want all our children dressed up on this day ready to celebrate our Cowboy
