No Voice for Story Time Ms. Tran’s class loved story time. They got to sit on the floor. They got to hold toy animals.
They loved to listen and look at the pictures. Sometimes Ms. Tran even used funny voices when she read.
One day, Ms. Tran caught a cold. When she tried to read at story time, no sound came out. She had lost her voice!
“Oh, no!” Ms. Tran thought. “I do not want the boys and girls to miss story time!”
Ms. Tran had an idea. There was a girl in her class named Rihanna. Rihanna could read very well. Ms. Tran had Rihanna come and sit in her chair. She put the book in Rihanna’s hand.
Rihanna knew just what to do.
Rihanna read to the class. She even used funny voices like Ms. Tran did. When she was done, the class clapped. “Good job, Rihanna!” they told her.
Ms. Tran was so glad the class did not have to miss story time. She smiled at Rihanna and whispered, “Thank you.”
