Powerscourt Townhouse, South William Street Dublin 2Tel: 016334479This Paddys day, Pygmalion will be celebrating two years onthe go and, in a city where the bar-and-club formula is difficultto get right (places often just end up as a room full of sloppydrunks, with a tiny dance floor hosting even sloppier dancing),this place has nailed it. So whats the secret? Its difficult topin down, but wed fancy that a quality-first approach coupledwith a lack of pretension (despite the name referencing Shawssend-up of the British class system) is the key. The warren-likeinterior of what used to be Ba Mizu has been stripped back, leaving a functional but fairly comfortable space and residentDJs churn out a mix of house, techno, disco, indie, and what-ever they consider worthwhile. Guest international DJs alsodrop in regularly, and the recently opened pyg caf servesbreakfast from 10:00.Open seven days a week, from 12:00 to 00:30 (03:00 Friday
