Scope1. Purpose of this method statement is to define sequence of activities for site preparation
works related to Company Petrochemical project. 2. Extent of these activities, are defined upon attached site plan (Not included with this

Responsibilities1 PSM shall ensure that site preparation activities are carried out in line/according to
project specifications, within specified time & within budget cost since, PSM is responsible contractually for project site prosecution on an overall basis.
2 PSM shall manage to procure all required resources for relevant activities.3 PSM shall control overall operations respecting all activities in all respects being an
organization agent4 CSM shall arrange resources required accordingly and act overall responsible for
excavation operation directly reporting to PSM5 CS shall control, monitor and direct SE, GFM, FM and workforce for relevant activities6 GE shall ensure that activities are conducted inline/according to project specifications
and this method statement.7 SE shall be responsible for all site activities and follow instructions of CS/CM8 Whatever, mishap on excavation operation shall immediately, be notified to CS and CM
by SE for immediate action, if so required for either possible remedy or record for authority review, whatsoever a case it may be
9 IS shall ensure that site preparation activities are carried out in line / according to this method statement as well as, complying with all contract/project specifications.
10 GFM shall be responsible for whole lot of workforce available on site for distribution, extraction of output, redeployment, supervision & controls.
11 GFM shall ensure that required workforce should be allotted to respective site everyday during morning depending on various activities in which connection, a coordination, interactions with site engineers/supervisors/CM/CS etc. shall be required continuously
12 GFM shall also, ensure that required equipment are available on sites during activities13 GFM shall everyday report all actions to CM/CS & Engineers14 FM shall execute operations deploying workforce & explain in full in language, work
persons understand about all instruction and Toolbox talks everyday and ensuring that instructions are followed up by workers regularly
15 QC shall inspect all operations required to be effected according to specifications & in line to ITPs requirements
16 S shall ensure that all surveys are conducted to requirements with all bench marks & grid coordinates located to requirement as well as, all survey recorded for submission
17 SO shall ensure that all safety requirements are complied with/met by site personnel18 EPC Contractor shall conduct surveillance over all ongoing activties all days as well as
ensure that inspections are conducted regularly by Engineer/client
Safety1 Prior to commencement of whatever activity, workforce shall receive a STARRT
card/Toolbox talk. 2 Process involving a particular safety risk, shall be calculated by conducting Job hazard
Assessment and necessary protective measures adopted to address risk issue.3 Included measures should comply with real requirement/standard as accepted or
recognized by industry/OSHA etc.4 In this case, excavation has to be carried out on Operating Authority area therefore all
regulated precautions shall be strictly adhered to effect ‘full safety standard’.

Chapter 3 Excavations & Crossings5 Only, specifically approved mechanical equipment/third party certified, whilst locating
these services shall be used6 Generally, where appropriate, only manual excavation shall be carried out to investigate/
expose existing either plant services or other services that may cause sudden damage or breakdown, should excavation be effected without investigation
7 SO shall ensure that persons being inducted on site are well aware of adopting right/suitable safety procedure to be implemented on site for activity concerned.
8 All persons available upon site shall wear PPE issued to them. 9 Where possible, hazards may arise from excavation activities, necessary safety measures
shall be adopted to prevent accident or injury at all times during personnel’s presence on site/work.
10 This may include provision of signage, barriers, watchman and night lighting.11 When, traffic is required to be diverted for requirement to cross some road, permit to
work shall be obtained supported by detailed method statement including detailed traffic diversion plan with all other working details
12 Permits to work and installation safety equipment shall be attained prior to respective activity commences.
13 Scanning of existing services shall be conducted by suitable methods prior to excavation is commenced with
Safety Supervision 1 A competent inspector shall visit included area daily to assess safety measures adopted. 2 Snags observed during visit shall be notified to supervisor present, who immediately,
would act to bring adopted safety measures to an acceptable standard 3 In case of certain incident, where utilities ‘not identified’ are discovered or damaged, all
works shall stop in area and Operator Shift Controller and HSE department immediately, notified.
Method (refer to sketch # 20)1 Survey team shall locate and mark all services that are present upon site (This includes
above ground services as well as, buried services). 2 These services, (Electric, telephone, gas, oil, chemical, water etc) shall be clearly marked
using stakes and warning tapes, reflected upon a site drawing and issues raised with client.
3 Survey team shall also, mark upon site plan all obstructions, structures and developments. 4 All obstructions encountered during excavation activities shall be plotted, recorded &
submitted.5 Where hazardous material is encountered, it shall be identified and isolated in compliance
with safety procedures under SO supervision. 6 Client shall be informed & hazardous material to be collected and removed to a licensed
tipping place. Details of material and tipping arrangements shall be documented for review by client as appropriate. Refer to Method statement Removal of hazardous materials.
7 Existing structures, fences and developments shall be demolished in a safe manner as site stripping activities proceed.
8 Necessary permits, approvals and permission shall be obtained from concerned authorities prior to commencement of activity.

Chapter 3 Excavations & Crossings9 Method of removal of these existing elements shall usually be conducted by dozer or
breaker. 10 Where necessary otherwise, discussions on site shall be made concerning alternate
methods of removal, when full extent of these structures are exposed. 11 Removal of topsoil shall include all vegetation and rubbish material from work site. 12 Prior to start of topsoil removal, surveyor shall peg out haul roads to be used by
construction equipment to execute all site preparation activities. 13 These roads shall be constructed by leveling of existing terrain. 14 Grade pegs shall be set to an agreed grid to indicate existing grade and reduced grade. 15 Dependent upon quality of existing soil, where road is to be built, suitable compactable
fill may be imported or relocated from other parts of site. 16 Material shall be approved by GE & QM/QE jointly.17 These roads shall be maintained as work proceeds.18 Where required, water shall be spayed for dust control.19 For general removal of topsoil activities using appropriate equipment, areas concerned
shall be excavated and graded to levels that ensure adequate surface water drainage. 20 GE/QM/QE shall monitor activity to ensure that topsoil material is removed. 21 Sampling and testing of resultant material shall be conducted for specification
compliance & proper compaction. 22 Upon completion of topsoil removal activities where appropriate, exposed surface shall
be scarified, moistened and compacted to achieve required density criteria. 23 Areas shall be divided into manageable sections that be defined upon sketches. 24 GE shall monitor and test all sections, results of which tests shall be recorded upon
relevant QC format. Number of tests conducted shall reflect specification requirement.25 In excavation areas, GE shall review material to be excavated to ascertain its suitability
for reuse as fill material. 26 This excavated material shall be transported to areas that require filling. 27 Material shall be deposited onto areas to receive filling, leveled, moisture conditioned
and compacted. 28 If necessary, stockpiling may be required.29 Excavated areas shall be divided into manageable sections, which be defined upon
sketches. 30 Excavated areas shall be monitored by GE to ensure that any unsuitable material does not
appear. 31 Where unsuitable material appears, it shall be removed. 32 Excavated formation surface shall be treated by scarification, moistened and compacted
inline/according to specification criteria. 33 All areas shall be tested and results recorded for submission.34 Where areas are to receive fill, material that has been excavated shall be transported to
fill area, tipped, leveled, moisture conditioned and compacted. 35 Material shall be spread and leveled in 200mm layers. 36 Areas to be filled shall be divided into manageable sections that be defined upon a sketch. 37 Fill layer shall be moistened and compacted to achieve required specification criteria. 38 No further fill activity shall be conducted upon an area that has not been approved and
released by GE.

Chapter 3 Excavations & Crossings39 Attention shall be observed at edges and slopes, to ensure that compaction criteria are
achieved.40 Additional layers of fill material shall be placed similarly, as described above, until
desired elevation has been achieved.
Production/Output procedureVerification exercise for fill activity was conducted to establish economical and effective method for fill activity, details of which are indicated below.
1 Import and place fill to controlled areas of approximate size 25m wide by 100 - 150m long.
2 Spread and level imported fill on whole strip.3 Add water to fill layer by passing water tanker over fill layer. 4 Water tanker should pass over layer twice.5 A time gap of approximately, two hours is allowed for water to soak into fill material.6 Layer is now mixed with grader, until a uniform blend of moist material is achieved.7 Additional water is added by passing water tanker over layer in a uniform sequence. 8 A time period of approximately one hour is allowed for this water to soak into fill layer.9 Fill layer is mixed again with grader leaving fill level to correct grade.10 Vibrating rollers shall now, compact fill layer in a logical sequence that compacts fill
layer uniformly.11 Testing of layer shall be conducted according to inline/specification requirements.

2 IS shall coordinate investigation of existing services with Plant authorities, so that an earliest resolution is reached to existing services, without causing any undue delay to prosecution of concerned sequence activity.
3 S shall accurately plot and record all existing as well as, if so required to be diverted, relevant services involved on site, for reporting purpose.
4 SE shall ensure that excavation is rightly carried out in all respects in line to drawings & specification & in compliance with all safety procedures.

Method (sketch # 20)1 From existing record drawings provided by relevant authorities controlling Plant, existing
services shall be located and exposed by hand excavation.2 ST shall check and accurately, record these existing services. 3 A line of pegs shall be positioned to indicate route of existing services. 4 Warning tape and/or nylon cord to indicate and protect route of service shall be provided. 5 ST shall inform IS about exact location of services relative to warning flags. 6 Whether or not, an existing service be disbanded or made redundant, shall be decided by
operating authority, for which process of an inspection should be conducted in which relevance, existing service shall be exposed to allow for inspection as well as, confirmation of its demanded status by authorities.
7 IS through EPC Contractor representative shall request relevant authority to review excavated service to confirm status as well as, instruct for necessary action required for removal or diversion.
8 Redundant service shall be removed under supervision of IS according to agreed criteria defined by relevant authority.
9 Where an existing live service remains working or serving during site preparation activity, such as 33KVA electric cable, that existing live service shall be protected in compliance with regulations.
10 Upon location of live service, ST shall mark that location upon ground using spray paint or small pegs. At necessary locations along route of existing live service indicated by ST, small hand dug pits shall be excavated to expose live service to ensure its location.
11 On ten meters (10m) either side of route of existing live service shall be erected posts at suitable centre/s.
12 A nylon cord with warning tape streamers shall be strung between posts to clearly indicate service and its route.
13 Signboards that indicate service name/what exactly live service within marked corridor is, shall also, be displayed at sufficient locations conveniently, within view along route.
14 Where temporary roads cross existing cables, sufficient suitable fill material shall be placed on top of cables to afford adequate protection by distributing axle loadings safely.
15 Safety Officer shall periodically, check condition of barriers, where necessary refurbishment is conducted.

Excavation Work Permit 1 A copy of ‘work permit’ shall be posted on a mini board, installed on site to be noticeable
to all persons involved 2 Barricades cones, markers, night lights and floodlights etc. shall be installed as required
for a complete safety.

1 On all directions, in addition to traffic sign boards, flagmen shall be engaged to operate full time to direct traffic about ‘excavation work in progress’ by waving ‘flag signal’ for all vehicles passing by
Hand Excavation 1 Excavation to expose services shall be carried out manually.2 In case, certain services not shown on record drawings such as fibre optics, but it is

Chapter 3 Excavations & Crossings2 EPC Contractor method statement for conducting cable Diversion shall be complied with.3 Existing route of 33KV cable shall be identified, marked & a barrier erected on either
side clearly defining route across site.4 Route proposed for new 33KV cable on AFC drawing shall be identified, marked on site
with pegs by ST, for which excavation shall commence to line and required level. 5 When excavation has reached to required level, appropriate sand bed shall be placed
within trench.6 New cable supplied by EPC Contractor shall be laid into trench inline/according to
approved methods and standards that would include placing of cable drum on a cable trolley and rollers.
7 Cable shall be unwound from cable drum by pulling to standard methods of pulling. 8 If required, a cable tugger fitted with load cell control, may be utilized.9 New cable shall be correctly placed to line and level upon prepared sand bed. 10 Wherever joints occur, sufficient cable overlap, to allow for jointing shall be provided.11 Insulation value of new cable shall be tested by 5KV motorized megger.12 Upon EPC Contractor Electrical Engineer/Engineer approval, cable shall be covered with
dune sand to required thickness evenly. 13 Cable tiles shall be placed on top of sand cover above new cable.14 Trench shall be backfilled with approved material meeting specifications. 15 Backfill activity shall continue, until trench is completely filled. 16 Route markers shall be placed with splice joints, locations surveyed and recorded.17 Where joints occur to cable either at two termination points with old cable or along
length of new cable, same technique shall be adopted.18 An experienced cable jointer, under supervision of an electrical engineer shall conduct all
cable jointing work.19 Approved jointing kits shall be utilized for cable jointing activities. 20 Manufacturer’s recommendations relating to installation of these jointing kits shall be
followed. 21 Upon completion of jointing of new cable length, entire length of new cable shall be
tested. 22 Cable shall be subjected to a pressure test of 67KV DC for 15 minutes on cable between
each core and earth. 23 Remaining cores shall be connected to earth. 24 Engineer shall measure leakage current, which all readings should be recorded upon
appropriate form. 25 Cable testing shall be witnessed by EPC Contractor/Engineer.26 Old cable shall be hand dug/excavated & an area sufficient to conduct jointing of cable
should be excavated.27 Electrical engineer in coordination with EPC Contractor engineer shall ensure that old
cables are identified and isolated, under supervision of Refinery Supervisor within appropriate substation.
28 Necessary electrical earth and isolation to cables shall be conducted prior to commencement of jointing old cable to new one.
29 Cables shall be jointed in same manner as described previously.30 Once, old/new cables have been jointed, these shall be tested by mega test at 5KV and
HV test at 53KVDC to establish its integrity and insulation.

1 Edge coordinates of pipe shall be calculated from information on drawing as well as, allowing for 1:1.5 slope & fixed in such a way, that full length of pipes are used without pipe cutting.
2 Center line and actual width shall be marked on ground.
Excavation1 Trench shall be excavated to correct width, length and formation by using a Hydraulic
backhoe. 2 Once, bulk excavation is completed, wooden pegs shall be inserted showing elevations
marked on them to guide & complete excavation to defined formation levels. 3 Formation shall be watered and compacted, using a plate compactor to achieve
compaction to 90% MDD meeting in accordance with specification. 4 Compacted formation shall be inspected/field compaction tested prior to commencement
of bedding activity.

1 Once excavation is complete & approved, bedding material shall be placed to a thickness of 150mm, watered and compacted meeting in compliance with specifications
2 Compacted surface shall be inspected, tested and approved.
Pipe Work1 Socket positions shall be set out on prepared bedding.2 Manual excavation shall be carried out for socket portion, ensuring that barrel of pipe
rests firmly on bedding. 3 Concrete pipes shall be transported from store to location of trench and gently, lowered
into trenches with a crane using belt slings only. 4 It shall also, be ensured that spigot ends remain clean to same standard as were original,
while installing gaskets. 5 Spigot end of pipes shall be cleaned using a cloth with special care taken to clean recess,
which should be lubricated with liquid soap following which, gasket placed in position. 6 Socket ends shall be placed upstream, while pipes should be laid back to back to correct
orientation.7 Supports shall be placed at one end, while spigot should be so placed that gasket remains
in contact with entry taper/bevel at socket evenly on circumference. 8 Spigot shall then be drawn into socket using a 5 ton Tirfor equipment. 9 Upon completion of jointing operation, bedding material shall be packed below pipes, so
that barrel rests firmly on bedding and pipe does not move. 10 Top elevation of pipe shall be checked to ensure that laid pipe is accurately placed to
correct alignment and elevations. 11 Procedure/operation shall be repeated, until all pipes are so laid. 12 Completed pipe work shall be inspected and approved. 13 Each joint shall be visually inspected from inside pipe if accessible.
Backfill1 Once pipes have been laid to True gradient and alignment as described above, bedding
material shall be carefully placed along sides and in between pipes by using a backhoe. 2 Bedding and surround material shall be placed in layers, watered and compacted, until
surround material reaches 300mm above top of pipe. 3 Excavated suitable material shall then be used for backfilling in 200/150mm compacted
layers inspected and tested, until backfilling operations are completed.4 A list of Do’s and Don’ts provided by manufacturer is attached herewith.

resorted to and if required, shoring shall be provided to prevent caving in. 2. Trench depth being more than 1200 mm, adequate means of exits, such as either
Aluminum ladder or steps shall be provided and located not more than 8 m of lateral travel.
Existing Services1. 2 # electric poles and other various categories of about 8 to 10 # running services ducts,
cables etc shall be properly diverted according to regulatory requirement and preserved until reinstated
Precast members1. Since, precast culvert units, covers and sleepers are heavy in load, proper care has to be
exercised during raising & downing (handling) to exact locations strictly adhering to relevant safety measures
Method (sketch # 17)1. Route of culvert trench shall be set out by surveyor complying to details of coordinates
provided on design drawings2. Existing services, such as fibre optic cable shall be located and protected. 3. Cable shall be supported across excavation, placed within a PVC duct, wrapped with
polythene & tied to support.4. Traffic diversion scheme with all signs installed shall be implemented inline/according to
attachment and monitored regularly, by safety department to ensure a smooth traffic management.
5. Concrete barriers shall be placed at head of diversion. 6. Ditch along side of diversion shall be barricaded with nylon rope bearing warning tape. 7. Initial excavation shall commence at drainage ditch to west side of avenue E and extend
across avenue E up to fibre optic cable location.8. Trench shall be excavated using appropriate equipment, while dump trucks collect
surplus excavated earth to be removed from site to spoil area. 9. Material that is to be reused shall be stockpiled. 10. Excavated asphalt shall be deposited at tip area in pre agreed location. 11. Damage to existing asphalt shall be repaired during reinstatement operation.12. Sides of excavation shall be sloped, where excavation depth exceeds 1.2 m. 13. Ladders shall be provided for ingress and egress of excavation. 14. Ladders shall be located every 8 m if so required, depending on length of excavation.15. A banksman shall be provided to monitor excavation machine operations.16. Bottom of excavated trench shall be inspected by EPC Contractor engineer prior to
compaction activity commences. 17. All unsuitable material shall be removed from site & disposed off to some approved
location. 18. Inspection and testing of compaction shall be conducted by site test laboratory. 19. Field density test results shall be submitted for approval & records.20. Surveyor shall monitor line and level of excavation regularly & provide level pins for
pipe bedding.

values. 22. Site test laboratory shall conduct field density tests & reported accordingly. 23. Concrete culvert pipes shall be placed correctly to line and level, as shown on IFC
drawing. 24. Pipes shall be inspected for damage prior to placement for no damaged pipes can be
placed. 25. Spigot head on culvert pipe shall be on upstream end of pipe. 26. A pair of nylon strap shall be used to lift pipes using a 50 ton crane and place pipes
correctly into trench. Backfill material shall be placed around pipes in layers 150mm thick duly compacted & tested by laboratory.
27. Backfill operations shall continue up to existing road formation level.28. When backfill activity is completed, asphalt repair to existing highway shall be
conducted & avenue E road construction be reinstated. 29. Traffic management scheme shall be removed to allow reuse of avenue E.30. A temporary security fence outside existing RRD area shall be erected to allow culvert
construction to continue east towards retention pond. 31. Temporary security fence shall be erected to agreement/requirements of security police. 32. When this activity is completed and approved by security police, existing security fence
can be cut and rolled back sufficiently, to allow construction activities to be conducted.33. Next section for culvert trench shall be excavated taking care of, where existing services
have been exposed to be well protected.34. Trench formation shall be inspected, compacted and tested as previously described.35. and warning of that existing service shall be provided.10. Method of excavation for work activity shall be defined upon work permit. 11. Where mechanical methods are accepted, a banksman shall be deployed with all
mechanical excavation equipment to check for all existing services and advise operator of excavation machine.
12. Excavated material, where possible shall be stockpiled in a controlled area location. 13. Unsuitable material shall be removed from site to spoil area immediately.14. Where soil conditions dictate, sides of trench shall be sloped to avoid subsidence.15. During work activities, site shall be kept clean & tidy without causing any obstruction to
site circulation16. Civil Contractor QC department shall conduct required inspection and test regime
required under ITP.17. Upon completion of work activity, all rubbish shall be removed from work site. 18. Easement area shall be left well graded to satisfaction to operating authority.

stockpiles, if not suitable for reuse. 14 Surplus material shall be removed to tip area by dump trucks for screening. 15 Surveyor shall monitor lines and levels of excavation activity.16 Upon EPC Contractor inspection, excavated trench shall be released for next operation as

Existing Services1 # electric poles and other various categories of about 8 to 10 # running services ducts,
cables etc shall be properly diverted according to regulatory requirement and preserved until reinstated

Safety1 Prior to commencement of whatever activity, workforce shall receive a STARRT
card/Toolbox talk. 2 Process involving a particular safety risk, shall be calculated by conducting Job hazard
Assessment and necessary protective measures adopted to address risk issue.3 Included measures should comply with real requirement/standard as accepted or
recognized by industry/OSHA etc.4 Permits to work and installation safety equipment shall be attained prior to respective
activity commences. 5 In this case, excavation has to be carried out on Operating Authority area therefore all
regulated precautions shall be strictly adhered to effect ‘full safety standard’.6 Only, specifically approved mechanical equipment/third party certified, whilst locating
these services shall be used7 Generally, where appropriate, only manual excavation shall be carried out to investigate/
expose existing either plant services or other services that may cause sudden damage or breakdown, should excavation be effected without investigation

1 Setting out proposed route in all respects in line to design requirement2 Civil Contractor QC inspection shall be carried out to approve layout for excavation3 During manual excavation, exposed existing cables shall be properly protected and well
supported temporarily 4 Trench shall be excavated 500mm wide & 1000 mm deep manually to defined levels 5 Civil Contractor QC inspection shall be carried out to approve excavated profile6 A layer of sand bedding shall be filled to receive 200 pair telecom cables 7 EPC Contractor shall lay cable on complete prepared route8 After release of cable laying, sand shall be filled on sides as well as, 100mm thick over
cables9 Cable tiles shall be laid en route according to standard details10 A layer of backfill 250mm thick shall be laid over cable tiles & warning tape provided11 Over previous backfill, up to finished grade level, further backfill shall be carried out to
approved procedures

ProceduresFollowing main operations are involved on carrying out this activity
1 Record drawing pertaining to existing services shall be obtained from RRD 2 Production of approved Traffic diversion scheme shall be submitted with application to
obtain permit to work giving details diversion about involved crossing.3 Setting out proposed route in all respects shall be effected by surveyor 4 Manual & mechanical excavation to be conducted further followed by duct laying,
concrete surround & backfill activities.5 Civil Contractor QC inspection shall be carried out to approve setting out/layout6 During manual excavation exposed existing cables shall be properly protected and well
supported temporarily 7 Trial pit shall be excavated manually to dimensions 3mx2m in ‘plus/+’ shape 1m wide &
about 1 m deep to expose cables & all other services employing seaming involved area with detectors to discover existence of live cables
8 After exposure of such services, all existing cables shall be covered with split PVC pipe and well supported temporarily, to continue excavation mechanically
9 Remaining portion of trench shall be excavated 500mm wide & 1000 mm or more deep by machine to defined levels
10 Civil Contractor QC inspection shall be conducted to approve excavated profile11 Defined 160mm dia. ducts shall be laid in position to be surrounded with concrete12 After approval, concrete shall be poured on sides as well as, 100mm thick over ducts 13 Backfill in 250mm thick layers shall be carried out up to finished grade level to approved
procedures14 Traffic diversion management scheme shall be removed, after backfill is completed

warning shall be installed. 7 Cables or pipes that span excavation shall be supported properly to avoid damage. 8 Split ducts and trays shall be provided to protect and support these cables.9 Where necessary, trial pits shall be hand/manually/by excavated to expose services prior
to commencing main excavation

Chapter 3 Excavations & Crossings10 All existing services encountered shall be plotted by surveyor on as built drawing for
reference11 Trench shall be excavated by a tracked excavator to correct lines and levels. 12 Where necessary or as defined on work permit, hand excavation shall be carried out13 When cable markers have been exposed, work shall be temporarily suspended and an
evaluation made about soil conditions. 14 Evaluation shall be conducted by EPC Contractor Superintendant and Operator
operations representative. 15 Where necessary, a revised method statement of work may be necessary and in this
instance, all personnel shall be briefed16 Exposed (Existing) cables and pipelines shall be checked for damage by EPC Contractor
supervision and combined inspection should be held by EPC Contractor and Civil Contractor.
17 Operation department shall be invited to attend proposed inspection for clarity & resolution
18 Cables shall be protected by fitting split sleeves after exposure19 Sides of excavation shall be sloped to sustain possible subsidence. 20 Barriers (including warning tape) shall be placed to indicate an open excavation21 Excavated material shall be stockpiled in agreed areas for reuse. 22 Surplus material shall be removed to tip area using dump trucks. 23 Surveyor shall monitor lines and levels of excavation operation throughout ongoing
excavation24 EPC Contractor engineer shall approve suitability of formation material by inspecting
bottom of trench and after approval is obtained, compaction of formation level should be carried out to required specified density values.
25 Site test laboratory shall conduct density test and resulting values pertaining to density and moisture contents should be reported confirming that compaction carried out conforms to specification requirement
26 Surveyor shall provide level pins that indicate correct elevation of bedding required for gas pipes.
27 Bedding shall be laid and compacted in accordance with specification requirement. 28 Test laboratory shall conduct test and report results29 Gas pipes shall be placed correctly within trench by EPC Contractor (not Civil
Contractor) in accordance with EPC Contractor own method statements 30 Upon acceptance of pipe installation, pipes shall be surrounded with further bedding
material, which should be compacted using suitable equipment31 Approved backfill material shall be spread uniformly in layers of 200 mm & compacted
to 150 mm in line to specification requirement and tested accordingly32 When backfilling, tile markers and warning tape shall be replaced and provided between
cable and tile markers33 This activity shall continue up to existing ground level. 34 Site shall be left tidy of excavated and backfill material
