of fuels or other sources. (Defined by FMA 1967)

Transmission Machinery

Every shaft, wheel, drum, pulley, system of fast and loose pulleys, coupling, clutch, driving belt or other device by which the motion of the prime mover of other source of mechanical power is transmitted or received by any machine or appliance.

Impact Hazard

• Occurs when an object or part of a

machine acts on the body but

does not puncture or pierce the

body

• Example: Hit by a motion part.

• Clothing or hair entangled in the parts of

machine that rotate or move.

• Example: Roller machine, gear, shaft (axle),

wheel, chain.

• Machinery has various hazard depending on the type of machinery, if uncontrolled, can cause accidents.

• To control them, it is important to first identify the existence of hazards followed by the assessment of risks as previously discussed.

machine. Recently, the company had bought a few new

machinery to increase their product. That machines are:

Two (2) cutting machinery (sawn) fixed type iron ;

One (1) fixed drill

Four (4) power press machinery;

One (1) portable air compressor;

Three (3) pedestal grinder

Based on information above, list down the hazard for

each machinery.
