The library is one of your most important sources of information
to help you in your learning journey at St Joseph’s. It can
connect you not only to information contained within its walls,
but to a variety of resources outside as well.
You will need to become very familiar with what the library has
to offer and how you can best make use of it.
One tool for dealing with new areas of learning or new ideas is a
KNL chart. It requires you to think about what you Know, what
you might want or Need to know, and how you might Learn
about the things you need to know. Depending on the task, the L
might represent a summary of what you have Learnt.
Library layout
ALICE in the Library
ALICE Inquiry is simple to use and is available on multiple
terminals across the network, just by clicking the icon
on your desktop.
Alice lets you search by, among other things, subject, title or
author, and tells you whether the resource is available for loan
or not.
Complete the KNL exercise on the library as a resource.
