HistoryIn the eighth century on the Lech Hill was built in the prince's castle located next to the suburb, and all surrounded by a shaft of wood and gas. Gniezno from year to year more and more flourishing. Tenth century was already one of the main towns of Piast. As it is, in 1000 he made the famous Congress of Gniezno, a quarter of a century later, witnessed the crowning of the first Polish king, Boleslaw, and after his death of Mieszko II.

History

In 1038, Duke Kazimierz I the Odnowiciel did Cracow his headquarters. The city became the Polish capital. The coronation Władysław Łokietek to the Polish king in 1320, in Wawel Cathedral in Cracow has confirmed the status as the united capital of the Polish Kingdom. This was the first coronation of Polish kings in Cracow.
