The District School Board:
• Promotes student achievement and well-‐being

• Develops and annually reviews a mul(-‐year plan

Roles: The Trustee
The Trustee:
• is a member of a team – the board of trustees
• First Na(on trustees appointed to the board are considered elected members of the board
• Par(cipates in decision making as a member of the board but has no individual authority to make decisions on behalf of the board
• Par(cipates in policy-‐making and strategic planning
• Balances the governance and cons(tuency roles, bringing the concerns of parents, students and supporters to the Board
