BARRY EICHENGREEN Barry Eichengreen es Profesor George C. Pardee y Helen N. Pardee de Economía y Ciencias Polícas en la Universidad de California en Berkeley desde 1987. Es Research Associate del Naonal Bureau of Economic Research (Cambridge, Massachuses) y Research Fellow del Centre for Economic Policy Research (Londres, Inglaterra). En 1997-1998 fue asesor principal de polícas en el Fondo Monetario Internacional. Es miembro de la American Academy of Arts and Sciences (generación 1997). El profesor Eichengreen es convocante del Bellagio Group de académicos y funcionarios económicos. Obtuvo las Becas Guggenheim y Fulbright y ha sido Fellow del Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences (Palo Alto) y del Instuto para Estudios Avanzados (Berlín). Es columnista mensual regular de Project Syndicate. Recibió el Premio Jonathan R.T. Hugues for Excellence Teaching en 2002 y el Premio Disnguished Teaching del Departamento de Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad de California en Berkeley en 2004. Barry Eichengreen is the George C. Pardee and Helen N. Pardee Professor of Economics and Professor of Polical Science at the University of California, Berkeley, where he has taught since 1987. In 1997-98 he was senior policy advisor at the Internaonal Monetary Fund. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (class of 1997). Professor Eichengreen is the convener of the Bellagio Group of academics and economic officials. He has held Guggenheim and Fulbright Fellowships and has been a Fellow of the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences (Palo Alto) and the Instute for Advanced Study (Berlin). He is a regular monthly columnist for Project Syndicate. Professor Eichengreen was awarded the Economic History Associaon's Jonathan R.T. Hughes Prize for Excellence in Teaching in 2002 and the University of California at Berkeley Social Science Division's Disnguished Teaching Award in 2004. He is the recipient of a doctor honoris causa from the American University in Paris, and the 2010 recipient of the Schumpeter Prize from the Internaonal Schumpeter Society.
