These art prompts are ideal to use for various home learning scenarios:

● A warm up activity before home study begins ● A filler activity between different subjects ● A fun winding down activity after formal study ● A just for fun, relaxing activity for anytime of the day! ● An open ended art lesson to encourage brainstorming,

creativity and problem solving skills. ● A timed activity: Set a timer for say 15 minutes and just

sketch whatever comes to mind using the prompt. This can train the brain to quickly think up some spontaneous and really innovative ideas! Though for some kids the time pressure can be an issue. If so then just go at your child’s pace.

● Take the prompts further! Your child could create a short story, character or poem based on their artwork.

1. Design a logo that represents your family or homeschool. Include a natural element. Perhaps your familys ‘national’ animal or flower!

2. Your strolling in the woods with your family, when you suddenly whoop with excitement! Sketch what you see!

3. Sketch a picture of what the world was like before houses, buildings, roads and motor vehicles. Include where you would live.

4. An elephant calf becomes stuck in the mud! Villagers rescue the calf and reunite it with its grateful parents! Draw the rescue operation!

5. Sketch a beehive complete with the Queen and her workers. Will it be in a tree?Between rocks?In a barn or even in a house wall cavity! Perhaps under the ground?
