With%the%school%year%in%full%swing,%take%some%8me%to%login%to%your%Parent%PowerSchool%Account,%you%can%review%just%about%every%aspect%of%your%child’s%educa8on%all%in%one%place%(aBendance,%grades,%accounts,%etc.).%%There%is%a%link%to%PowerSchool%on%the%school%website,%hBps://boHneau.ps.state.nd.us/public/home.html.%%If%you%can’t%remember%your%login%or%don’t%have%one%stop%by%the%office%or%call%and%we%will%get%you%connected.%%

% On%September%7,%2018,%First%District%Health%Unit%from%Minot%conducted%a%School%Inspec8on,%they%also%completed%an%Environmental%Health%Inspec8on%of%the%BPS%Food%Service%Program.%%I%am%proud%to%again%say%that%both%inspec8ons%were%completed%with%both%programs%geHng%very%good%reports%with%our%Food%Service%receiving%a%perfect%100%score,%please%congratulate%them%on%a%job%well%done.%%Our%custodians%and%food%service%personnel%work%very%hard%at%what%they%do%and%it%is%great%to%see%this%type%of%report%and%I%hope%that%it%reassures%you%as%parents%and%guardians%that%we%are%working%hard%to%assure%student%safety.%%% %

% I%am%glad%to%see%that%our%new%Dual%Credit%classes%are%seeing%success,%we%currently%have%students%taking%four%different%college%courses%on%our%campus,%following%our%bell%schedule,%while%being%taught%by%college%instructors%on%our%campus.%%This%has%opened%the%door%for%many%students%to%take%college%courses%while%at%the%same%8me%being%able%to%aBend%our%classes%on%our%schedule.%For%the%ambisious%student%they%could%earn%13%college%credits%by%the%end%of%the%school%year%and%never%have%to%leave%the%building%to%do%it.%%It%is%a%WIN/%WIN%for%our%students.%

% Many%“things”%have%been%in%the%works%and%going%on%behind%the%scenes%over%the%past%year.%%As%I%am%sure%you%have%heard%by%now%the%District%will%again%be%asking%for%your%support%to%add%on%to%the%exis8ng%3^12%building%and%move%all%PK^12%students%to%one%loca8on.%%The%topic%of%what%is%the%best%solu8on%for%replacing%Central%School%is%one%that%has%been%debated%over%the%years%and%is%not%new%for%you,%the%patrons%of%the%BoHneau%Public%School%District.%%This%debate%will%again%come%to%the%surface%in%the%very%near%future,%as%the%BoHneau%Public%School%Board%and%Administra8on%are%looking%at%what%is%the%best%educa8onal%decision%that%can%be%made%for%the%students%who%aBend%Central%School%regarding%those%facili8es.%%

I%am%very%pleased%with%how%this%school%year%has%begun.%%Remember%that%there%is%no%school%on%October%18th%and%19th,%these%are%the%mandated%Teachers%Conven8on%Days,%also%just%a%reminder%to%enjoy%the%31st,%but%more%importantly,%keep%your%children%safe%on%Halloween%while%Trick%or%Trea8ng!%%

Welcome'to'the'new'school'year!'It'is'hard'to'believe'we'are'halfway'through'the'1st'Quarter!'There'lots'of'exciting'things'currently'happening'in'the'BPS'Library'world'and'many'upcoming'events!'Here'are'a'few'highlights:'

'Makerspace'in'HS'Library'We'were'lucky'enough'to'receive'a'$1000'grant'from'the'Rural'Schools'Collaborative'to'create'a'makerspace'area'in'the'HS'Library.'''What'is'a'makerspace'and'why'is'it'important?'A'makerspace'is'a'collaborative'work'space'inside'a'school,'library'or'separate'public/private'facility'for'making,'learning,'exploring'and'sharing'that'uses'high'tech'to'no'tech'tools.''The'concept'of'the'

makerspace' allows'students'to'become'creators,'inventors,'and' innovators.'Students'become'problem'solvers.'
