Those we love don’t go away They walk beside us every day unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed

and very dear.

~ Lynsey Carlson

Clint moved to the Masonic Home in June of 2017 and lives on the second floor in the Residential Center. He was born in Manassas, Georgia and moved to Florida when he was just a year old. When he was a young boy he used to go to work with his mom at the citrus factory and help sort the fruit. Clint worked all his life, and when he graduated high school

he was hired by his fifth grade teacher to work at their paint store. He eventually bought the store and it was the beginning of his very successful business career. Clint owned and operated Clearwater Paint Company for over 60 years. He was fortunate enough to have the only paint and hardware store in Clearwater at the time and had made many connections over the years. Clint had a lot of knowledge in the building industry and was a part of the building of many properties in Clearwater. He owned the whole block of land that his house sat on one and everyone in town knew who he was! Clint had many, many friends over the years and started his very own “Coffee Klatch”. Different business owners and workers from around town would come and stop by every morning for a cup of coffee with Clint. Eventually Clint sold the business, but the Coffee Klatch Club still kept up at this house. He would have his friends over all the time, even his birthday every December was a big block party! Clint has four children, three sons and one daughter. Often you can find his sons visiting him, because they live locally and his daughter lives in Boise, Idaho. Clint was blessed with three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Clint had a sister who was very successful in her own business as well. She owned a Dry Cleaning company in Clearwater. Clint’s niece, Jamie was very much a part of his family. She spent a lot of time with Clint and his kids, and continues to be very close, visiting the Home and Clint weekly. Clint started riding motorcycles when he was a young boy. He has been all over the world on his motorcycles. He traveled across the U.S.A, Mexico, Finland, Denmark, and Sweden amongst many other countries! Clint was director of the Motorcycle Drill Team in the Shrine and was the President of the Southeastern Shrine Association. Clint has been a Mason from The Clearwater Lodge No.127 for over 60 years. He is also a member of the Shrine, Scottish Rite and an Honorary Member of both Florida Shrine Temples. You can often find Clint sitting having a cup of coffee in the morning in the front lobby, visiting with friends and always giving a warm morning welcome to all the staff. Clint was a friend to many, many people over the years. He knew everyone and knew a little bit about everything. He was a very successful business owner and a wonderful dad. Clint was the guy you could always count on! He continues to want to share his stories and knowledge and will be celebrating his 92nd birthday this December! Clint, thank you for being the Masonic Home’s Resident of the Month. Ride On!

The Happiness Award was started in February, 2019 to spread and share the happiness around our home. It’s been a fun way to let those who make us extra

happy know how much they are appreciated.
