Lavasol™ liquid membrane cleanerseffectively remove inorganic scale, metals, colloids, biological growth, and organicfoulants from RO membranesLavasol™ liquid membrane cleaners effectively remove a wide variety of foulants from polyamide thin-film composite andcellulose acetate membranes. Each cleaner dilutes quickly andeasily to form a solution that vigorously removes membrane foulantswithout harming the membrane surface. A regular maintenanceprogram including Lavasol™ membrane cleaners ensures optimumsystem performance and maximum element life.
Lavasol I™ - Low pH Cleaner for Removing Inorganic Scale andMetals from Polyamide Thin-Film Composite and CA Membranes.Foulants effectively removed by Lavasol I™ include:
• Calcium Carbonate • Strontium Sulfate• Calcium Sulfate • Iron• Barium Sulfate • Metal Oxides
Lavasol II™ - High pH Cleaner for Removing Acid InsolubleFoulants from Polyamide Thin-Film Composite Membranes.Foulants effectively removed by Lavasol II™ include:
• Silt • Microbiological• Colloids • Acid Insoluble• Organics • Mucilaginous Material
Lavasol III™ - Medium pH Cleaner for Removing Acid InsolubleFoulants from CA Membranes. Foulants effectively removed byLavasol III™ include:
• Silt • Microbiological• Colloids • Acid Insoluble• Organics • Mucilaginous Material
Lavasol IV™ - Neutral pH Cleaner for Removing Organics fromPolyamide Thin-Film Composite, UF and NF Membranes. Foulantseffectively removed by Lavasol IV™ include:
• Organic Acids • Oils• Proteinase Foulants • Waxes• Cellulosic Foulants • Paraffins
Lavasol V™ - For Removing Silica from Polyamide Thin-Film Composite, CA and UF Membranes.
General Mixing andApplication Instructions forLavasol™ Cleaners
• Prepare system for cleaning.
• Fill cleaning tank with goodquality water, preferably ROpermeate water.
• Mix 1 gallon of Lavasol™ foreach 40 gallons of water inthe cleaning tank.
• Re-circulate solution for atleast 1 hour.
• Static soaking heavily fouledmembranes is recommended. After soaking, recirculateagain for a minimum of 30minutes.
• Rinse system at low pressureprior to system start-up.
• Discard system product water for 15-30 minutes after system start up.
Pressure and Element Flows:• Pressure: 60 psi• 4" Element Flow: 7 GPM• 8" Element Flow: 35 GPM
