32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time November 6, 2016
My dear parishioners, I am happy to be back form a wonderful pilgrimage to Italy. We used Inspirational Tours and were very pleased with their service. Simone Dounda acted as parish representative and worked tirelessly for the good of the other twenty seven pilgrims that participated. The journey led me to a greater appreciation for the Saints and the holy people, our ancestors that have gone before us. It was a joy to be in St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City for the audience with St. Peter’s successor, our Pontiff, (bridge builder) Pope Francis. How varied a group we are as members of the Church; the variety of nations that were present was expressed in a vibrant, joyful faith, on that is even stronger than death. Our little group from Houston was acknowledged by the master of ceremonies. For me personally, the highlight was celebrating mass in a small and simple chapel in Assisi, if you have not had the opportunity to visit, I do want to encourage you to walk in the steps of Francis, who was asked by the Lord to re-build the Church. St. Francis set about rebuilding the ruins of San Damiano, he soon realized that what was wanted of him by God was to purify the corruption within the church. This he did by living in the most simple of ways, and in poverty what it means to be a follower of Jesus. We continue to look to the future renovations of our Church here in the Park. I am excited and hopeful about this venture. We face the future in the confidence that we are in the palm of God’s hands. As a country also, we need to go forward in faith, remembering the dignity that we hold as children of God; a dignity we share with all peoples, irrespective of race or nation, creed or color, Republican or Democrat, slave or free, straight or gay. This calls us to open our hearts to God’s grace and to journey as pilgrims in the footsteps of those before us called, as always to love.
With every good wish,
Fr. Phil

Stewardship Week video
Dear fellow parishioners, we’re highly encouraged by your feedback about the video that we showed during Stewardship Weekend. The video
was done by our staff with the assistance of a videographer who collaborated with us to help us keep a minimal production cost.
Comments and contributions following the video have been overwhelmingly positive. Our contributions during that week went up compared to the previous week, and many of you graciously increased
your recurrent contributions. For those of you who are still praying about it, please contact Johanna or Enrique if you have any questions. We truly appreciate your contributions and your support making
St. Theresa a great place where everyone feels welcome.
Truly yours, Johanna Bransford & Enrique Benitez
