    46

    STEEL CASING PIPE47

Provide steel casing pipe complying with ANSI B36.10, current version. Steel casing shall be rated for48

minimum yeild strength of 35,000 psi.49

    50

Casing shall be sized as shown on the plans or larger as necessary to provide a minimum of 2 clearance51

between the inside of the casing pipe and nearest point on carrier pipe bell or other fitting.52

Steel casing shall be provided with a factory applied bituminous coating complying with ANSI 21.4.6

    7

    CASING END SEALS8

End seal system manufactured for the sole purpose of sealing the ends of casing pipes. Seal shall be9

properly sized to fit over both the casing and carrier pipes. End seal shall be constructed of 1/8 thick10

synthetic rubber and provided with stainless steel clamps to provide water-tight seal around both pipes.11

Provide Cascade Waterworks Manufacturing, PSI Pipeline Seal and Insulator, PowerSeal Pipeline12

    Products, or approved equal.13

    14

    CASING SPACERS15

Spacer system manufactured for the sole purpose of supporting carrier pipes within casing pipes. Spacer16

system shall be manufactured of stainless steel and durable plastic components. Spacers shall attach17

securely to carrier pipes so that they do not slip or rotate. Spacers shall be provided with abrasion resistant18

dielectric skids with a low coefficient of sliding friction. Provide Cascade Waterworks Manufacturing, PSI19

Pipeline Seal and Insulator, PowerSeal Pipeline Products, or approved equal.20

Comply with applicable requirements of Section 33 05 23.13 -UTILITY HORIZONTAL DIRECTIONAL25

    DRILLING.26

    27

If multiple borings are required, limit work to a single location at a time.28

    29

    CASING PIPE INSTALLATION30

Advance casing by method of boring and simultaneously jacking.31

    32

Remove spoil using mechanical methods; washing or sluicing of soil is not allowed.33

    34

Install casing to line and grade as shown on the plans. Alignment shall be within 0.5 horizonatally and350.25 vertically.36

    37
