The ERCFW-11 frequency inverter is a variable speed drive series with stateof the art technology for three-phase induction motors. It can be used in avast range of applications, since it is designed for running on either Normalor Heavy Duty Cycle loads. Its performance is excellent, providing increasedproductivity and an improvement in the quality of the process in which it isused.
Innovative and simpleThe ERCFW-11 presents many innovations that are helpful and beneficial tocustomers, mainly due to the simplicity of its installation and operation. TheERCFW-11 was developed based on Plug-and-Play philosophy (connectand use) allowing simple and fast installation of the inverter and itsaccessories. The HMI (Human-Machine Interface) has a navigation andprogramming system similar to mobile phones, with soft-key buttons. It ispossible to access the parameters sequentially or through groups ofparameters.
The HMI also makes the Oriented Start-up function available, guiding theuser through the necessary programming.
FlexibilityThe ERCFW-11 adapts itself to the customer’s needs through a broad rangeof accessories, which are easily installed. Besides this, the standard productcomes with the SoftPLC function that attributes PLC functions to theinverter, which allows the customer to create his/her own applications (userprograms) through the WLP software (programming in LADDER).
Permanent Magnet Motor (PM) ControlThe ERCFW-11 will be able to control Permanent Magnet Motors forapplications requiring high torque and improved efficiency.

Optimal Braking™Frequency inverter braking technologyFor applications requiring short stopping times and/or stops underhigh inertial loading, conventional inverters use Dynamic(rheostatic) Braking, where the load’s kinetic energy is regenerated to the inverter DC link and the excess is dissipated in the form ofheat in a braking resistor that is interconnected with the powercircuit. The ERCFW-11 inverters have a built-in Optimal Braking™ -function, for the vector control mode, enabling an optimal braking,capable of responding to many applications that could only besolved by dynamic braking before. Visualization Modes
The HMI presents functions and a hierarchy by group of parameters that makes programming easy and very fast.
Oriented Start-upERCFW-11 guides the userthrough the necessary set-up toadjust the inverter to the motorand power supply.
Basic ApplicationThe Basic Application Groupcontains the basic parameters,which need to be adjusted in mostapplications. The ERCFW-11guides the user through theseparameters.
Fault History GroupThis only shows the parameters with information related to the
last 10 faults, e.g. day, month,year and time that they haveoccurred.
Read Only ParametersGroup
This shows only the read onlyparameters.
Backup Parameters GroupThe Backup Parameters Group allows ERCFW-11 parameters tobe transferred to the HMI or FLASH Memory Module (available inthe standard product) and vice versa. During ERCFW-11operation, the modified parameters are saved in the FLASHMemory Module regardless of user command.
Selectable LanguageThe user can choose the HMI language: Portuguese, English,Spanish, German, etc.
Functions GroupThere are several groups divided by functions, only theparameters related to the function are available. Example: VectorControl Group, Communication Group, I/O Configuration Group,etc.
Changed Parameters GroupOnly shows parameters that are different from the factory default.

ApplicationsThe ERCFW-11 frequency inverter can be used inboth simple and sophisticated applications, due toits broad range of functions and easyconfiguration, installation and operation. TheERCFW-11, through its Vectrue Inverter™technology, presents excellent static and dynamicperformance, precise torque and speed control,dynamic response, positioning precision, and highoverload capacity. The ERCFW-11 was alsodeveloped for applications where the decisivefactor is safety, through several built-in protectionsand alarms as well as through the safety stopfunction in accordance with EN 954-1, category III.

Multi-Pump ControlThe ERCFW-11 permits the system to maintain theline pressure of a pipe constant, regardless of flowdemand fluctuations.
This allows the system to use only the necessarynumber of pumps to supply its demand. It controlsthe speed of one of the pumps, turning the otherson and off according to demand.
Besides controlling the system output pressure, italso monitors the suction pressure and the captationtank level.
The ERCFW-11 automatically alternates the pump that isrunning according to the number of hours each one hasbeen operating, as to ensure uniform use.
This Multi-Pump Control is available free of chargethrough a SoftPLC function application software availableon the Eurotherm site.

With the activation of the safety stopfunction, the PWM drive pulses of theIGBTs are disabled. Since there is novoltage applied to the motor there is norotating magnetic field in the motor.Thus, it is ensured that the motor remainsstopped providing system safety.

Trace FunctionTrace function is used todisplay ERCFW-11 variables(like current, voltage, speed,etc.) when a given eventoccurs in the system(Example: alarm/fault,overload, overvoltage, etc.).
This event in the system iscalled a trigger because ittriggers the data storageprocess.
The stored variables can bevisualized in the form ofgraphs by using the G2SuperDrive software.TRACE function simulates a4-channel oscilloscope.
It is a very useful tool duringthe start-up of a system andfor diagnostics.
FLASH Memory Module• It stores all the

Technical CharacteristicsBuilt-in Inductors in the DC Link• Allows inverter installation in any network (there is no minimum

• Meets the IEC61000-3-12 standard, related to low ordercurrent harmonics in the network
Single DC Busbar (DC Link)ERCFW-11 inverters have access to the internal DC link allowing tobe used in applications where a single DC link is used, as well asfor regenerative systems.
Used for configurations in multi-motor machine systems where thebridge rectifiers of each inverter are replaced by a single generalinput rectifying unit, through the interconnection of the inverters bymeans of a single DC link. This solution also improves energyconsumption of the system as a a result of the energy transferbetween the inverter units.
Intelligent Thermal Management• Monitoring of the heatsink and internal air temperatures of the
electronic boards providing total protection of the IGBTs andthe ERCFW-11 as a whole
• The heatsink fan is turned on and off automatically, dependingon the temperature of the power modules
• The speed and the numberof hours of operation of thefan are monitored andindicated in correspondingparameters. Alarm or faultmessages are generatedrelated to these variables
• The fan can be removedeasily for cleaning orreplacement
Functions• Multi-speed: up to 8 pre-programmed speeds. PID regulator:
automatic control of level, pressure, flow, weight, etc.
• Ride-Through: operation during momentary failures of thepower supply
• Skip Frequency: rejection of critical or resonant speeds

• Surrounding air temperature range is from -10°C up to 50°C. Itis possible to operate up to 60°C with a derating of outputcurrent

The ERCFW-11M (modular drive) is the new generation of Eurotherm frequency inverters for high power ratings. It is available in powerratings from 400 to 1900kW (2500 HP) and voltages from 380 to 690V, with 6 and 12 pulse input rectifier. Both air and water cooled IGBToutput modules are available. Output power rating for water cooled version goes from 450kW to 2100kW at 690V ac supply voltage.
Notes: The fuses presented in the block diagram above are not included in the inverterERCFW-11M, but are part of the ERAFW-11M driveMaximum ERAFW-11M configuration with 5 power units is 1900kW (2500 HP) for aircooled modules and 2100kW (2800HP) for water cooled modules
