PRINCIPAL’S DESK Over the last several weeks, everybody

visiting our campus could sense the

vibrations of a technical festival. The

previous union members, students and staff

members have worked as a team with

dedication and conducted MITECH’18 in a successful manner.MITECH’18 has not only served as a platform to the budding

engineers in and around Kannur to

demonstrate their inbuilt talents, but also

provided a golden opportunity to develop

their interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.

Apart from static learning, students should

participate in workshops, gain practical

knowledge by observing the working of

equipments and interact with industry

personnel related to their domain. They

should be capable to sense, analyze, solve

challenges in the society and present

their findings in technical forums.

Science and Tech Discoveries Ancient India Gave the World

"If there is one place on the face of earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home from

the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India!"

Romaine Rolland (French scholar)

One of the notable scientists of the ancient

India was Acharya Kanad who is said to have devised the atomic

theory centuries before John Dalton was born. He speculated the

existence of anu or a small indestructible particles, much like an

atom. He also stated that anu can have two states — absolute rest and

a state of motion. He further held that atoms of same substance

combined with each other in a specific and synchronized manner to

produce dvyanuka (diatomic molecules) and tryanuka (triatomic

molecules).

unit willing to do anything at any

time. Our teachers teach with

passion and determination and the

results were shown when a student

of EEE department bagged Kannur

University first rank last year. After

KTU was introduced in 2015, results

have become even better. Three

students of the first KTU batch got

placed in various companies in the

past 2 weeks.

College was planning to conduct

tech fest for so long and finally the

dream was accomplished this year.

All the students came together to

display a great set of intellect and

creativity for ‘MITECH’18’, two days’ inter- collegiate tech fest of

our college. It was a dream comes

true moment for each one of us and

we were highly motivated and

supported by our Principal Dr.

Benham sir and all the staff of MIT

to fulfill our dream. Several students

from various colleges came to

observe the event. MITECH was

fortunately a big success. We are

The word ‘education’ means the process of facilitating learning or

the acquisition of knowledge,

skills, values, beliefs and habits.

Through education, the

knowledge of society, country and

of the world is passed from

generation to generation. The

significance of education is so

immense that there is no wonder

why Nelson Mandela said these

words about education;

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to

change the world.”

Educational institutions are of

considerable importance in our

society. They are the centers of

human resource development and

the learners who come out of

these centres are expected to take

up various responsibilities of the

society.

Malabar Institute of Technology,

Anjarakandy is the part of

integrated campus comprising

premium educational institutions,

super specialty hospital, Kannur

Medical College, Dental College,

college of nursing and

paramedical college including

Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and lab

technician courses. The

management has chosen this

backward area for the college with

the aim of uplifting the students of

the area by making technical

education affordable and within

reach. And the college is following

its goal in an unbelievable

manner. It has all the facilities

required for a technical institution

and we are blessed with intelligent

teachers. Several experienced

Professors including Mukundan

Sir, Kunhiraman Sir and Manuel

Sir were a part of our faculty

which had been a boon to us. Our

college brings excellence in all

forms including the academic

division and extra curricular

activities. We have a strong NSS

A crypto currency is a digital or virtual

currency that uses cryptography for

security. A crypto currency is difficult to

counterfeit because of this security

feature. A defining feature of a crypto

currency, and arguably its most endearing

allure, is its organic nature; it is not issued

by any central authority, rendering it

theoretically immune to government

interference or manipulation.

Crypto currencies make it easier to

transfer funds between two parties in a

transaction; these transfers are facilitated

through the use of public and private keys

for security purposes. These fund

transfers are done with minimal

processing fees, allowing users to avoid

the steep fees charged by most banks and

financial institutions for wire transfers.

However, because crypto currencies are

virtual and do not have a central

repository, a digital crypto currency

balance can be wiped out by a computer

crash if a backup copy of the holdings

does not exist. Since prices are based on

supply and demand, the rate at which a

crypto currency can be exchanged for

another currency can fluctuate widely.

Here are some popular crypto currencies

in circulation today.

Bitcoin is a crypto currency, a form of

electronic cash. It is a decentralized digital

currency without a central bank or single

administrator that can be sent from user-

to-user on the peer-to-peer bitcoin network

without the need for intermediaries.

Satoshi Nakamoto is the name used by

the unknown person or people who

developed bitcoin, authored the bitcoin

white paper, and created and deployed

bitcoin's original reference implementation.

As part of the implementation, they also

devised the first block chain database.

Ripple is a real-time gross settlement

system, currency exchange and

remittance network created by Ripple Labs

Inc., a US-based technology company.

Dogecoin is a cryptocurrency featuring a

likeness of the Shiba Inu dog from the

"Doge" Internet meme as its logo.

Introduced as a "joke currency" on 6

December 2013, Dogecoin quickly

developed its own online community and

reached a capitalization of US$60 million

in January 2014.
