1. General

Scope and purpose.The Micro Site Load Breaker kit makes it possible to extend the Outdoor Cabinet (both

105417 and C20315.001) with an additional double pole 16A load breaker. Installation

must be done by authorized personnel only.

WARNING: Installation must be done by authorized personnel only.

Note! Eltek Valere recommends that the system is powered down beforeinstallation of the kit.

Recommended tools

Standard equipment used by an authorized electrician. Use insulated tools with torque

control.

Torque settings

All terminals on the load breaker must be tightened with 3.0Nm.

3. Installation in old Micro BBU (105417)Step Action OK

1 The mains input must be turned OFF during the installation.Turn OFF the external mains input breaker!

2 Remove the End Stops on the left and right hand side of the BTS load breakerF1/terminal blocks. The load cable labeled –F1 and the copper link on top of F1have to be removed too.Remove the 2 position inter link in the middle of the terminal blocks.

3 Mount the Micro Site load breaker to the left side of F1. Mount the extra terminalblock on the right hand side of the existing ones. Lock all components with theEnd Stops removed before.Remount the load cable with the new 4 position copper link on top of F1 and F2.Mount the new 4 position inter link in the middle of the terminal blocks (Cut off

one position if only 3 terminal blocks are used).Mount the copper link at the bottom of the new BTS breaker if the breaker mustbe parallel connected for maximum 32A load.

4 Remove 2 of the appropriate size knock-outs to accommodate the suppliedcable glands. Refer to the Installation Guide for an overview of knock-outs in thecabinet base.Put a flat screw driver between the 2 tags that support the disc. Give the top ofthe screw driver a knock with a hammer.Put the screw driver to the other side between the tags and knock again. Start byknocking cautiously and gradually increase the force. Repeat the knocking untilthe tags are so fatigued that the disc drops out.

5 Mount the cable glands in the openings. Run cables from the new BTS loadbreaker F2 (-48V) and the new terminal blocks (0V) through the cable glands tothe BTS.

6 The 2nd BTS Breaker Kit has now been installed. Turn on both BTS breakers(F1 and F2) and the battery breaker (Fb1).Start up the system by turning on the external AC breaker.




4. Installation in new Micro BBU (C20315.001)

Step Action OK

1 The mains input must be turned OFF during the installation.Turn OFF the external mains input breaker!

2 Remove the End Stop to the right hand side of the Door fan breaker. Snap theBTS breaker on the DIN rail next to the Door fan breaker. Remount the End Stopto the DIN rail and lock the BTS breaker with this.Cut the connection rail (Item 4 in the Consist of table) in half (use cable ties tosecure insulation) and mount on the bottom of the MCB. Route the cable from theBTS breaker to the free connection in the system’s distribution just above F1. Forpositive connection use one of the free 0V screw terminals in the distribution.If needed mount the 2-pole link on top of the MCB to parallel connect the 2

breakers.The kit has now been installed.Dispose superfluous parts.

3 Turn ON the mains external breaker(s) and measure that the voltage on theunderside of the Metrosite BTS breaker is -48V.Turn ON the MetroSite BTS breaker.
