The LEDOTRON dimming standard was selected by the Federal Retail Trade Association (BVT) for TOP 10 Technology 2012, thereby becoming one of the chosen ten hottest technology products of 2012. Why a new method?

More than 100 million dimmers are installed in Europe

As a result of the EU-wide ban on incandescent light bulbs (Ecodesign Directive) the customer is replacing the bulbs with new lamp types: CFLi and LEDr

The following problems can arise:– The compatibility of the dimmer and the lamp can not

be guaranteed– There is no certainty that the standard for radio

interference EN 55015 will be met for certain– There is no guarantee that the standard for harmonic

current emissions EN 61000-3-2 will be met for certain

Optimization of existing technologies is hardly possible due to a lack of standards

OSRAM and the industry together found a way: The dimmer controls a lamp by means

of digital data transmission: LEDOTRON®

LEDOTRON® introduces a new standard in dimmable light convenience:

Application for retrofit lamps

Integration in radio or wired building control systems is possible at any time(remote control, scene control etc.)

There is no standardized wire based technical alternative for this application.Note:DLT is not to be confused with the “Powerline” process. Powerline has a neutral cable, which covers all electrical circuits in the building; LEDOTRON® does not.
