=> 3D was introduced in 1844 with the Stereoscope, a device that could take pictures in 3D
=> The first 3D movie was released in 1922 – “The Power of Love”, Teleview system.
What is 3D?OriginsOrigins
People perceive depth with two-dimensional objects appearing at a slightly different angle to each eye.
The brain processes the two 2-dimensional views, works out the difference between them and translates the information into a 3D image.
Entertainment media with 3D rely on the same technique:slightly different images appear at the same time on the screen, with only one image seen by each eye.

TV can convert normal 2D image to 3D image
In this case, 3D picture quality is not better than watching
the original 3D image.
Using 3D contents is highly recommended to enjoy real 3D.
▪ Preparation ▪ How to play
1. Press “3D” button on Remote
2. Press “ ” on Remote then,
select 3D Mode below
3. Wear 3D Active Glass then power on.
4. To change from“3D” to “2D”, press “3D” button on Remote
then press “ ”
There are two way of watching 3D

▪ Generally, 3D contents are made by one of “2D → 3D”, “Side by Side”, “Top & Bottom”.
So, before watching the 3D contents, the right 3D mode should be selected for better quality.
※ Normally, TV recognizes the Mode automatically, but illegal copies can not be done.
3. 3D Glasses
- Battery and rechargeable type is available1) Turn on
- Set the TV to 3D mode, press 3D glasses power
button for 2~3 sec watching the TV.
- Power indicator LED is blinking once,
then it turns on. (Getting darker like sun glasses)
※ If TV is not set to 3D mode, then the 3D glasses does not
turn on for power saving.- In case of rechargeable type, the cable is provided.
- How to charge
Use USB port From PC or TV

2) Turn off
- Press the power button for 2 ~ 3 sec.
- When turned off, power indicator LED is blinking twice.
- Power indicator LED is blinking continuously about
3 hours before completely discharged.
- Then, please connect the cable and recharge.

4. 3D TV NDF Case
▪ Symptom
- The picture is not sharp and flickering
- Double picture image or Ghost image
▪ Solution
Maybe the 3D function is activated but you
can see the picture without 3D Active Glass.
When the 3D function is activated,
if you press “3D” button on Remote,
you can see the message “Quit watching 3D”
If you want to enjoy 3D, press “Exit” button
then watching 3D after wearing 3D Glass.
▪ Symptom
- 3D does not work
▪ Solution
a. Can your external device such as Blu-Ray
support 3D ?
※ The external device have to be connected
with TV on HDMI port.
b. Your title is 3D ?
c. TV is activated on 3D mode ?
If 3D mode, when you press “3D” button
on Remote, you can see “Quit watching 3D”
d. Turn the 3D Glass on.
e. If not fixed, the battery of 3D Glass may
have run down.
g. 3D signal might be interfered with PDP IR
or three wave fluorescent light.
4. 3D TV NDF Case
▪ Symptom
- 3D does not work properly
▪ Solution
- If you change the mode from 2D to 3D
in general mode, 3D may not work as expected
- If the title is 3D but the player such as Blu-Ray
can’t support 3D, 3D may not work as expected.
- Change 3D Depth on OSD or
try to run “Picture Correction” on OSD.
* Go to Picture Menu then select 3D
▪ Symptom
- I feel dizzy looking 3D contents
▪ Solution
- The Samsung 3D TV can turn 3D off
though the contents is real 3D.
- Follow below step to turn 3D off
a. Press “3D” button on Remote
b. Selec “3D Off”
[Depth] [Picture Correction]
4. 3D TV NDF Case
▪ Symptom
- The picture is displayed side by side or
top & bottom as below.
▪ Solution
Change 3D mode to “Side by Side” or
“Top & Bottom”.
Step1. Press “3D” button on Remote
Step2. Select “OK” then select correct 3D Mode
▪ Symptom
- The 3D feature turns off frequently.
▪ Solution
- If turning the TV off then on or
changing your source, the 3D feature
will be turned off though you had set
3D feature to “On”. It’s TV’s specification.

3D TVs display left side image and right side image for time of 50Hz or 60Hz. TV sends a vertical sync. signal of TV on glasses using infrared rays. And Shutter of glasses does action of open/close according to received infrared rays signal. That is, when TV offers an left side image, left side shutter is opened. In opposite case, right side shutter is opened. Therefore, left side image is looked through left side eye. And, right side image is looked through right side eye. Because such phenomenon is produced disparity, we can see 3D image

1. First Checklist for Troubleshooting
1.1 3D Glasses1. Check the batteries of glasses first.
- Check to see if the batteries are low or flat.
The glasses' LED blinks continuously.
=> The batteries are flat. Replace them with new ones.
Press the Power button of glasses and check to see if the LED blinks once or several times
=> If not so, the batteries are flat. Replace them with new ones.
2. Check the viewing range
- Check to see if the glasses is located within the viewing range from the TV
Glasses support 3D function only within the viewing range described in the user's manual
