Virtual Author

James is a children's poet, non-fiction writer and musi-cian. Every time he visits a school, children ask Where do you get your ideas from? – to which he replies that he gets his ideas from the magic wood at the back of his house...James believes there is a magic wood – your imagination – which takes things from your life, things you’ve done, seen, daydreamed, remembered – and turns these into poems. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Agmm180-D8E&feature=youtu.be

How am I feeling and coping during lockdown?

Here are some diaries from kids around the world about their life dur-ing the coronavirus and the different ways they are coping. Why don’t you watch them and see how it compares to your experience? https://www.unicef.org/coronavirus/kids-video-diaries-about-life-during-covid-19

First Aid for Feelings is a lovely booklet and way for children to try to understand and talk about the feelings they are experiencing dur-ing this time http://teacher.scholastic.com/education/pdfs/FirstAidForFeelings_Eng.pdf

What have your teachers been up to this week?

Miss Annett enjoyed vis-

iting the Cotswolds at the

weekend where she saw

lots of very cute animals

at a farm. She also had

fun participating in

Sports Week at home!

Mrs Walters and her

family enjoyed a so-

cially distanced BBQ

with friends followed

by cooking yummy

marshmallows.

Miss Norris’ group in school

has been learning to tell the

time in school this week and

they had fun trying to hold

the Yoga Tree pose for Sports

Week. They managed 15

minutes.

Resilience Calendar

Action for Happiness have released their July calendar which is focused on resilience. It has some lovely ideas of

things that you can do everyday to help build resilience during these con-

fusing times.

Mrs Robson and her home learning

group in school have been creating

an ocean life display showing the

different zones of the ocean and

what lives there.

Mrs Ashcroft, Mrs Child, Mrs

West and Ms Lindsay say hello.
