WHERE TO GET TICKETS

Welcome to the 3rd Annual International St Albans Film Festival. The star of this year is the newly restored Odyssey cinema, which is on the site of the first cinema as we know it today - the Alpha Picture Palace built in 1908 by Arthur Melbourne Cooper, of St Albans. The Odyssey has already become so popular since it opened just months ago and we are so excited to be hosting our opening feature screening and closing awards at this beautiful venue. Look out for many other stars shining over the festival weekend from the incredible students of Oaklands putting on their own mini

festival of cool events and the staff at Westminster Lodge making a splash with their films while you swim. Take a trip to Bayfordbury - the observatory on our doorstep and discover their amazing stargazing facilities and as ever make sure you see at least one programme of short films from up and coming filmmakers from around the world - this year we have introduced the ‘audience vote’ so YOU will become one of our judges and get to vote for your favourite short at the screenings. Plus look out for aliens, robots and spacemen all coming to the city for one weekend only!

(Leoni, Festival Director)

CLOSING NOTE

SPECIAL THANKS

The film festival will be taking a little break in 2016 so we can come back bigger and better in 2017. Look out for all the other great events happening next year in St Albans including the Shakespeare Festival, Food Festival, Fashion Week and loads more. This year we have successfully changed the model of the film festival to reflect the best fringe festivals around the UK ie: the festival team run a hub of events and there is the opportunity for you/your organization to run your own event as part of the festival so look out for details of our themes from 2017 – 2020 and beyond and find out how to get involved and run your own event. Thanks for all your amazing support so far. SEE YOU SOON.
