Space Analysis
The space that I have chosen isthe Art Gallery located at the3rd Floor of Sasana Kijang. Thespace selected was half of theArt Gallery which containsdecorations and differentmaterials on the walls. Benchescan be found in the spaceunlike the other half of the ArtGallery.
The purpose of creating this space is so thatartworks of artists can be presented. The spacewas meant to be wide, empty and also isolatedfrom any form of distractions. It is to allow usersto have better focus.
By selecting the highest floor and the corner of a building, whileusing materials that isolates distractions, users will feel and
have more private space between one another. The benches are located
near the walls to preventusers at rest to affect theexperiences of the others.Transparency of the space
are kept limited but enoughto make the user feel free
rather than trapped inbetween walls.
Hence, the materials chosen to createthis space have to be simple and
gentle. Any elaborated elements in thematerials could take away the purpose
of creating this space. Also, thematerials chosen are supposed tomake users feel calm and relaxed.

LAMINATED WOODLaminated wood is used as theflooring material as it provides agentle yet smooth ambiance tothe gallery.
TINTED GLASSTinted glass are used at some parts of thewalls to allow natural sunlight into thespace. It adds on to the feeling of being ina natural environment with the sunlightreflecting on the laminated wood.
CONCRETE WALLS AND COLUMNSWhite concrete walls and columns are usedfor the simplicity visual effect whilecontrasting with the laminated woodfloors. It is also to ensure that the artworksin the gallery get more focus than thespace.
STEELSteel is used on the walls at this space as a decoration element. It creates a diamond shape onthe walls working as a separation between this space and the other of the Art Gallery. It alsoincreases the unity of the building's exterior pattern with this space.
