3 rd grade Field Trip to Hannibal on May 13 th April 1, 2016

On, Friday, May 13th, the third grade students will be taking their end of the year field trip to the Mark Twain Cave in Hannibal, Missouri. Your child will need to bring a cold lunch and a drink for the field trip. The cost of the field trip is $15.00 per student and will cover admission into the cave and panning for gold. There is also a gift shop at the cave and your child may bring money if you permit them to shop at the cave. More information is available about the cave at the following link:

Our schedule for the day:9:00 – Leave Unity Elementary9:45 – 10:45 - We will walk around Mark Twain’s boyhood home on our way to the lighthouse.11:00 – 12:00 - We will eat lunch at the shelter house at Mark Twain Cave and have a little time for a recess break. Parents are welcome to meet us at the park area to eat with their child.12:00 – 1:15 - The students will be divided into two groups according to class. They will tour the cave and visit the gift shop during this time.1:30 – We will be panning for rocks next to the cave.2:00 – Leave Hannibal and return to school.
