PROPOSED4 - DAY SCHOOL WEEK

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
MONDAYS ARE OPTIONAL"FLEX DAYS"
Flex days are days that school will be open at
normal time, with normal bus schedules and
normal meals provided. However, attendance will
not be taken on Mondays. Flex days will be used
for enrichment activities, field trips and one on
one tutorial times! Advantages are listed below!
ADVANTAGES OF FLEX DAYS
Flex days can be spent at home with your families, traveling from a
long weekend, or maybe to schedule an appointment. These days
are truly FLEXIBLE. You can send your student one Monday, but not
the next. Each week is up to you . Flex days are designed to be a
good time to send your student to school if he or she had been sick
another day, missed due to an extracurricular event, or just to catch
up and have an opportunity to get one on one help. We will also
schedule some extra and exciting field trips for these flex days to
enrich your child's life and make learning more fun!
TUESDAY THROUGHFRIDAY SCHEDULE
To meet state requirements, every Texas school
district must be open a certain amount of
minutes per year. Because we are required to
meet those 75,600 minutes of required
instruction, our school day on Tuesdays through
Fridays would be extended by 40 minutes. Our
day would begin at 7:40 a.m. and end at 3:35 p.m.

provided to pose any questions you have for the
PVISD administration. This link will also have sample
bell schedules and a proposed 2020-2021 school
calendar for you to reference.

share your thoughts! Our regularly scheduled board meeting is
Monday, May 4th. Your board members, administration, and
Campus Improvement Team members will take your
considerations and determine if the 4 Day week is the best way
to proceed for the 2020-2021 school year.
