Zumba Gold targets the largest growing segment of the population: baby boomers. It takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. What stays the same is: the exhilarating, easy-to-follow moves; and the invigorating, party-like atmosphere. Active older adults want camaraderie, excitement and fitness as a regular part of their weekly schedule. Zumba Gold is the perfect fit. Drop in available after minimum registration is met. Ballet Floor Barre This class will give you a full workout on the floor. Graceful and percussive exercises based on ballet technique are all performed on the floor, with a focus on abdominal strength, coordination and stretching. You will leave feeling taller and empowered. This class will enhance your ability in other dance forms or physical activities. It can also benefit those who need to keep fit while recovering from an injury. Ballet I/II (Adult/Teen) Focuses on basic ballet vocabulary & correct alignment. Participants must be of age by Sept. 15th 2012. Creative Pre-Ballet (Ages 5-6) Boys & girls learn basic ballet positions and preparatory steps in an enjoyable manner. Ballet terminology is incorporated into creative explorations. Musicality and classroom etiquette are emphasized in a friendly encourag- ing environment. Children must be of age by Sept. 15th 2012. Ballet I (Ages 6-8) Ballet terminology is alternated with movement improvisation. Musicality and classroom etiquette are emphasized. Boys & girls will begin working at the Barre and progressions across the floor while continuing their explorations in creative dance curriculum. Ballet II-V Danseurs and ballerinas build strength, flexibility and grace in a non-competitive, encouraging environment. Traditional classes focus on ballet vocabulary, correct alignment, and finding personal expression within the form. Barre-work, center floor exercises and movement across the room will all be included in an appropriate way for each level. All dancers will be evaluated in their first class for proper placement at teacher and director’s discretion. Tap and Ballet (Ages 4-6) This class introduces the young dancer to the preliminary steps of ballet and the fundamentals of rhythm through tap techniques. Children must be of age by Sept. 15th 2012. Tap Boys & girls focuses on fundamental tap vocabulary, build coordination, musicality, and have a great opportunity for self-expression. Jazz I-V Class covers jazz technique including warm up, body isolations, progressions across the floor, and a fun rhythmic combination. Boys & girls build strength and coordination, while listening to fun and lively music. We have levels I - V to provide the most appropriate challenge for each dancer. Modern/Contemporary Dance Boys & girls will learn to move with set exercises as well as improvisational and compositional assignments. This style emphasizes articulation of the spine as well as coordinating arm and leg movements. Class includes floor work, center work, partnering, improvisation and dance combinations. Hip-Hop An exhilarating fun class to get you moving with the latest grooves. Enjoy a funky beat while learning to isolate your body in rhythmic ways. Irish Step Dance Boys & girls will be instructed in the correct technique, carriage, steps and timing of Irish Step dancing while sharing the joy of dance and fostering a love for this beautiful art form. Girls: A black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes fitted properly, hair in a bun. Boys: White t-shirt, black leggings, black ballet slippers. Tap and Ballet Girls: Black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes fitted properly, black tap shoes with tap ties (an elastic fastener that helps shorten the shoe changing time, available at the front desk). Hair in a bun. Boys: White t-shirt, leggings, sweats or shorts, black ballet slippers and tap shoes. Tap Dance clothing and tap shoes fitted properly. Girl’s hair in a ponytail or bun. Jazz Girls: Any color leotard, tights or black jazz pants, and black jazz shoes. Hair in a ponytail or bun. Boys: Any solid color t-shirt, jazz pants, sweats or shorts, black jazz shoes. Hip Hop Dance clothes, clean soled sneakers, hair pulled off the face. No Jeans. No shoes worn on the street.

Yearly and Semester Dress Code

Our Mission: Is to provide an enjoyable dance

education that promotes creativity and the diversity of every participating individual with an emphasis on a healthy body image and healthy alignment in practice.

1st semester dancers are invited to per-form in our informal Winter recital.

2nd semester dancers can perform in our formal Spring recital.

Students who enroll in the whole year get a discount and

are eligible for both recitals.
