On July 23rd, members of the NW 4-H Outdoor

Adventure Team embarked on a journey of fun,

fellowship and service. Along the way, their own

Revolution of Responsibility was born.

The 4-H Outdoor Adventure is an annual University of

Missouri Extension program that connects 4-H members

from across NW Missouri with the goal of positive youth

development in an outdoor setting. Typically youth

engage in a float trip and other outdoor activities along the

way. The 2012 edition featured a trip to SW Missouri.

Members enjoyed a float on Shoal Creek and splashed

around in Missouri’s largest waterfall, Joplin Falls. The

team also participated in laser tag and had a blast (no pun

intended).

However, the activity that left the greatest impression

was the opportunity to serve residents of Joplin who were

effected by last year’s tragic tornado.

Pony Express Shoot Out results were as follows: 47 4-H Youth participated.
