PERSONS and GROUP WORK: SH and others (like the LLLs) are in different groups. We will have to see, ME Group and GPM-group will see for themselves how to split up. JRu and EK are going to “switch” groups, we had some considerations where they could bring in their expertise in the best way now that the project is running half-way. There will be some clarification during the meeting.

Evaluators (IM, FN)

As you probably recognized during the last months (illnesses, delays, quality of the formats) we had some difficulties with the old team of the external evaluators. This lead to a change inside this team. Team work with evaluators has improved a great deal.

Their and our main aim in external evaluation is the mentoring of the process. It is not “control” or even looking for mistakes. We know that the experiences with being evaluated are very different in different countries as well as in different institutions.

But: No problems to be expected with the Commission. The evaluator will send positive feedback to the Commission.

Therefore, you can be rather open in the evaluation forms. The items they get should give us all the possibility to even improve our work. They were expressing their aim in taking the info you give them as starting points to act critically and reflective in order to improve the process.

Discussion on why the impression evolved, that questionnaires where not answered openly – meNet participants or questionnaires. Questionnaires were described as not very helpful by Petrovic. Maybe there is insecurity about will happen with the comments.

How can evaluators support the meNet participants? Mainly by giving feedback to the steering committee and coordinators.

Evaluators don’t change anything, they just report and give feedback.

BL demanded to keep an eye on diversity and has the feeling that diversity is not reflected in the work of the evaluators and their questionnaires. She thinks questions were not so interesting and helpful. EL reminds us that this criticism has been mentioned before.

MEETINGS

� Bologna 2008

The “eas/meNet – team Bologna” – responsabilities/ soon some more infos, mostly presentations, and being at the table at the time of about 2 hours once during the



meeting. We will send you’re the information about this rather late as we have to consider the presentation times before.

Please be aware that presentations in Bologna are main meNet products. This means that the work-load should be shared inside the groups. Those who come will present work of the groups, lease support those going.

Invitation letters for AssPartners have been written, you can find them on the platform inside NewsAndInternals – in order to help them get the funding – LOs are definately adressing them before!

meNetTeamBologna – We have once began an area inside the platform. But we will from now on give all the information via e-mail. As there are people included that are not meNet members, but people working for the EAS, in Bologna we are one common team. Adressing everybody via e-mail is easier then.

� France 2008: 25th to 27th of October (Sat to Mon) – Congrès of APEMU – collaboration with EAS. HM information? There is no programme available by now, we are planning to give information about meNet there, in case you are interested to come, please let us know.

� Exeter Conference R.I.M.E.: 6th International Conference for Research in Music Education: meNet paper deadline: 31.10.08

� Tallinn 2009: 28th June (17h) to 1st of July (12h): meNet meeting! 1st to 4th of July EAS conference (-> song festival)

� Next meNet meeting in Den Haag (13th Nov – 16th Nov): It will be an important meeting concerning handbook. Dissmination plans etc. M.e Derksen from the LLL-Agency of the EC will visit us for about one or two days. AV gives information on sites & places in Den Haag

� organisieren, überwachen des Arbeitsfortschritts, unterstützen

� neue Mitglieder integrieren (JRu, EK.)

� Carola fokussiert auf Comenius, kein Mitglied der Steuerungsgruppe mehr

Evaluatoren (IM, FN)

Wie Sie sicher in den letzten Monaten festgestellt haben (Erkrankungen, Verzögerungen, Qualität der Formate), hatten wir eine Schwierigkeiten mit dem alten Team der externen Evaluatoren. Dies führte zu einem Wechsel innerhalb des Teams. Zusammenkunft mit den Evaluatoren brachte sehr viel.

Zusammenfassung ihrer Kommentare: 7 Bemerkungen (siehe Poster)

Deren und unser zentrales Ziel der externen Evaluation ist das Betreuen des Prozesses. Es ist nicht “Kontrolle” oder sogar Fehlersuche. Wir wissen, dass die Erfahrungen mit Evaluation sehr unterschiedliche in den einzelnen Ländern und Institutionen sind.

Aber: Es werden keine Probleme mit der Kommission erwartet. Die Evaluatoren werden positives Feedback an die Kommission weitergeben.

Darum können Sie sehr offen in den Evaluationsbögen sein. Die Teile, die sie bekommen, sollen allen die Möglichkeit zur Weiterentwicklung unserer Arbeit geben. Sie drückten aus, dass es ihr Ziel ist, ihre Informationen als Startpunkt zu nehmen, um kritisch und reflektierend zu handeln, um den Prozess weiterzuentwickeln.

Diskussion darüber, warum der Eindruck entstand, dass Befragungen nicht offen beantwortet worden sind – liegt dies an den meNet-Teilnehmer oder an den Befragungen? Befragungen wurden als nicht sehr hilfreich beschrieben von Petrovic. Vielleicht herrscht Unsicherheit darüber, was mit den Kommentaren passieren wird.

Wie können Evaluatoren die meNet-Teilnehmer unterstützen? Hauptsächlich durch Feedback an die Steuerungsgruppe und die Koordinatoren.

Evaluatoren verändern nichts, sie stellen nur fest und geben Feedback.

BL betont, dass besonders Rücksicht auf die Diversität gelegt werden soll und hat das Gefühl, dass Diversität sich nicht in der Arbeit und den Befragungen der Evaluatoren widerspiegelt. Sie glaubt, dass Fragen nicht so interessant und hilfreich waren. EL erinnert daran, dass diese Kritik schon früher geäußert wurde.



GLOSSAR Gruppe

Das Glossar ist bereits ein interessanter Teil der Plattform und ist zunehmend wichtig für uns und mehr noch für Besucher unserer Plattform und User unserer Produkte. Dankschön Marina und Christine für Eure großartige Arbeit! MG und CSt Information

PK – Zeitformulare enthalten die gesamte meNet Arbeit, aber nur etwa 60% sind gedeckt vom meNet, der Rest ist „eigener Beitrag“ der eigenen Institution. – Mehr als die Hälfte des Geldes der Phasen 1 & 2 wurden ausgezahlt.

� BL: Findet es problematisch, dass der effektive Zeitaufwand für das Projekt und die Zeitformulare in Verbindung mit dem offiziellen Zeitplan nicht übereinstimmen – viel mehr Arbeit wurde geleistet. Schlägt vor, dass die tatsächliche Zeit dokumentiert wird.

� CSt: Unterstützt die Idee: Effektive Arbeit soll allen ersichtlich gemacht werden, auch in Brüssel.

MEETINGS

� Bologna 2008

“eas/meNet – team Bologna” – responsabilities/ soon some more infos, mostly presentations, and being at the table at the time of about 2 hours once during the meeting. We will send you’re the information about this rather late as we have to consider the presentation times before.



Please be aware that presentations in Bologna are main meNet products. This means that the work-load should be shared inside the groups. Those who come will present work of the groups, lease support those going.

Invitation letters for AssPartners have been written, you can find them on the platform inside NewsAndInternals – in order to help them get the funding – LOs are definately adressing them before!

meNetTeamBologna – We have once began an area inside the platform. But we will from now on give all the information via e-mail. As there are people included that are not meNet members, but people working for the EAS, in Bologna we are one common team. Adressing everybody via e-mail is easier then.

� France 2008: 25th to 27th of October (Sat to Mon) – Congrès of APEMU – collaboration with EAS. HM information? There is no programme available by now, we are planning to give information about meNet there, in case you are interested to come, please let us know.

� Exeter Conference R.I.M.E.: 6th International Conference for Research in Music Education: meNet paper deadline: 31.10.08

� Tallinn 2009: 28th June (17h) to 1st of July (12h): meNet meeting! 1st to 4th of July EAS conference (-> song festival)

� Next meNet meeting in Den Haag (13th Nov – 16th Nov): It will be an important meeting concerning handbook. Dissmination plans etc. M.e Derksen from the LLL-Agency of the EC will visit us for about one or two days. AV gives information on sites & places in Den Haag
