POT

Cliff Caldwell held the winning ticket, worth $52 for the

small pot. The ticket actually belonged to Bill Plourd,

per Cliff’s self-incriminating admission. It’ll be interest-

ing to see if cliff takes a small commission for sticking

around after Bill’s departure, or just pickets the whole

thing. Who knows? The large pot is now at $600+.

ANNOUNCEMENTS We learned of the Annual Gala, honoring our military Guys and Gals at NAF El Cen-tro, set for Feb. 7

th. President Frank sold the full Rotary table of 8 at $65 a pop for the

Gala in about 14 seconds. That’s $520 in 14 seconds – about what Cliff Caldwell charges for a 14 second flex of his legal talent.

Sebio Al Arbal-lo (check the ISIS beard) an-nounced the de-livery of the State of the County address, to be delivered by Ryan Kelley. Sorry, but I didn’t get the location, though perhaps it may be in the Sups’ Chamber. Don Thompson warned us all against wheel-chair-bound snoops, dis-patched by a small cadre of San Diego jack-als with law de-grees to prey on businesses here, shaking them down for alleged ADA violations. Georgia Libsack, who, with her Hubby, are in the

ADA remediation business, confirmed this predato-ry conduct. Jennifer Thomason recognized Gerard Delaney for gifting an old IV Press sales box, which hap-pens to be fireproof, to Interact’s “Little Free Library” pro-ject. Lee Hind-man was giver a well-deserved reading of the

newest “Miranda Right” by our beloved leader – and it well live forever in the dusty racks of the old Imperial County Law Library. It was “LEE, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT (IF NOT THE DUTY) TO SHUT UP!!” Lanny Foote got peals of laughter when he an-

nounced that his Associate Attorney and recently

minted Rotarian, Stacey Todd, became a new

mom on December 29th, giving birth to son De-

clan, except that poor Lanny had it “Reclan,” an error Declan’s great uncle, Bill Plourd gently pointed out.

tors,

and

rial Rotarians.

Pledge, Prayer and Song

Gabe Contreras kicked things off with the Pledge, followed by Las Quatros Amigas (plus uno), who’s frightening outburst (Awei’m ‘Enerry the Eighth Awei Am), ap-parently extracted from a bad trip (if you’ll excuse the term) to San Diego the previous weekend in which they cuddled with one of the all-time great Brit-bred sopranos, Peter Noone and his taxidermically restored side-kicks, ‘erman’s ‘hermits. Trish McNeese, Cathy Kennerson, Diane Cason, Nancy Thornberg and Georgia Libsack for all of whom we should be relieved to learn that their maiden names aren’t “Brown,” as in “Mrs. Brown “uv Got a Loverly Daughter.” That train left the station in 1962, when ‘Erman’s cutsie chicks were hatched. Ron Griffen restored order with the prayer.

Karina Alvarez is being proposed for mem-bership into our Club by Rudy Rodriguez. Karina is a Cer-tified Public Accountant. She serves as a member of the Work Force training Board and is on the finance committee. Kariina is active as a member of the McCabe School Site Counciil and serves as the

Children’s Liturgy Ministry for St. Mary’s Church. Please take time to introduce yourselves to Karina.

HARVEST TIME aka WHINING AND FINING The afore-mentioned Quatros Amigas + 1, took another shot at Teeny-

Bop stardom by telling us about their visit to King Tut’s Tomb (quite a hike to Cairo from Viejas, or wherever it the concert was). $50 each. Speaking of taxidermy, Danny Nuffer reported that he’d indulged him-self with some new equipment – no, not

body parts!!! Got his eyes cleaned, hearing assists repaired, teeth. Cost him a mere $50. Andy Horne was nicked for $50 for “Looking Forward,” via Mr. Delaney’s Women’s Maga-zine. Finally, Kathleen Ball received two baggies

of green, leafy stuff. Pres. Frank claimed the

contents were edible, didn’t need to be dried

out or otherwise processed to use, smoke or

bong. If that was the “real” stuff, Kathleen got

off easy at $25.
