    1. Warranty

    1.1 Warranty Period

    1.1.1 Shall be c apable o f me eting a ll cha rac teristic s for a m inimum period of 1

    (one) year from the date of purchase when stored or used as specified under

    norma l co nd itions within contents of these shee ts. The warranty fo r the initia lde fection such as ap pe arance de fection is limited to 1 month.

    8. Reliability Test

    8.1 Exposure to high tem perature

    Touc h panel is put into a test mac hine a t the c ond ition o f 60 fo r 120 ho urs. The n

    it is left a t the roo m tem perature for 24 hours or mo re. The me asurem ent must

    sa tisfy the fo llow ing:- Resista nc e betwe en Lea ds:

    200 < X Axis < 900 300 < Y Axis < 1000

    - Line a rity: 1.5 % or less

    - Insula tion: 10M or more @ 25V (DC)

    - Op era ting Forc e: 40grams or less w ith 2mm M anusc ript Pen.

    8.2 Exposure to low tem perature

    Touc h p anel is put into a test ma c hine a t the c ond ition o f - 20 for 120 hours.

    Then it is left a t the roo m temp erature for 24 hours or more. The mea surem ent mustsa tisfy the fo llow ing:

    - Line a rity: 1.5 % or less

    8.3 Exposure to c onsta nt tem perature a nd humidity

    Touc h panel is put into a test ma chine a t the c ond ition o f 60, 90%RH for 120 hours.

    Then it is left a t the room tempera ture fo r 24 hours or more. The m ea surement must

    sa tisfy the fo llow ing:

    200 < X Axis < 900 300 < Y Axis < 1000

    - Line a rity: 1.5 % or less

    - Insula tion: 10M or more @ 25V (DC)

    9. Visua l Inspec tion

    The follow ing a re ap p lied to the viewing a rea only. They a re igno red in the non-view ing

    area s as long as the elec tric a l pe rformanc e o f TP is Func tiona l. W = Width, L = Length, D =

    Diame ter, GT = Glass Thickness. Contamina tion tha t c an b e c lea ned using a soft c loth w ith

    ethyl a lc ohol do es not app ly to these c riteria. If the ob jec t is 3 time s longer in one d irec tion

    than in a perpendicular direction, then it is considered a linear foreign object. Extra

    d ielec tric dots a re trea ted as a granular foreign o b jec t; extra silver or ca rbon is reg a rded

    as a defec t.

    9.1 Sc ratch

    CRITERIA DECISION

    W20mm in

    d ista nce from any othe r sc ra tc h o r foreign o b jec t, it is

    ignored.

    In case of L 20mm where the scratch is >20mm in

    distance from any other scratch or foreign object, the

    TP is defec tive .

    In c ase o f L >20mm the TP is reg a rded as a defe c t.

    9.2 Granular Foreign O b jec t

    CRITERIA DECISION

    In case where the object is < 20mm in distance from

    11. Hand ling Rem arks

    This p rod uc t is intend ed for use in sta nd ard a pp lic a tions (com p uters, office automa tion,

    and other office equipment, industrial, communications, and measurement equipment,

    personal and household devices, etc.) Please avoid using this product for special

    applications where failure or abnormal operation may directly affect human lives, orcause p hysica l injury or property da ma ge, o r where extrem ely high levels of reliab ility a re

    req uired (suc h as aerospac e systems, vehic le operating c ontrol, a tomic e nergy c ont rols,

    me d ic a l devic es for life suppo rt, etc .)

    11.1 Sto rag e

    11.1.1 When the product is stored, make sure it is stored in storage temperature and

    humidity ranges, eliminating any outside load.

    11.1.2 When the p rod uc t is sto red , ma ke sure it is pac ked in a p rop er pa c king box.

    11.1.3 Do no t use o r store the p rod uc t under a c ond ition w here the p rod uc t w ill be

    exposed to w a ter, orga nic solution o r ac id .11.1.4 Do no t expo se the p rod uc t to the d irec t sunligh t.

    11.2 Unp ac king

    11.2.1 When you hand le the p rod uc t, hold the p rod uc t by its bod y. Do not ho ld b y the

    FPC ta il.

    11.3 Handling

    11.3.1 When ho lding the p rod uc t, hold the p rod uc t outside o f the view ing a rea in order

    to avoid da ma ge to the touch pa nel.

    11.3.2 Plea se pay the best a ttention no t to c rea te any stress to the hea t-sea led FPC ta il.

    11.3.3 The ed ge of the g lass is not round ed and ma y cause injury.

    11.3.4 Do not depress or scratch the product with any object with a sharp edge to

    avoid sc ra tc h to the p rod uc t s surfac e.

    11.3.5 Do no t forcibly bend or fold the p rod uc t.

    11.3.6 Do not p ut hea vy objec ts on the p rod uc t.

    11.3.7 Clean the product with a soft cloth or a soft cloth with neutral detergent or

    alco hol. When c ontam inated by c hemica ls, wipe them o ff imm ed iate ly with c autionnot to c ause injury to human bo dy.

    11.4 Mo unting

    11.4.1 After protective film is released and then laminated to the products surface

    aga in, p lea se m ake sure the re is no d irt on the prod uc t s surfac e.

    11.4.2 While d esigning the mounting bezel, try to minimize the stress of the b ezel edge

    on the to uch p ane l. Bezel edg e m ust b e p ositioned in the a rea be twee n the Ac tive

    Area and the View ing Area . The b ezel ma y press the touc h sc reen a nd c ause input if

    the ed ge enters the Ac tive Area .

    11.4.3 A ga p o f ap p roxima tely 0.5mm is needed betw ee n the bezel and the top

    elec trod e on the to uch sc ree n. It ma y ca use unexpec ted input if the ga p is too

    narrow.

    11.4.4 If a c ushion is used betw ee n the b ezel and the top elec trode, the c ushion must

    be free enoug h to a bsorb the expansion a nd c ontrac tion d ifferenc e b etwe en the

    bezel and the top elec trod e. If the c ushion is squashed too ha rd , the expa nsion a nd

    the c ontrac tion d ifferenc e ma y c ause the distortion to the top electrod e.

    The c ushion m ust b e positione d within the insulation a rea .

    11.4.5 There is a toleranc e of 0.2 to 0.3mm for the d imensions of t he touc h sc ree n a nd

    the tail. A ga p m ust be ma de to a bsorb the to leranc e in the c ase a nd the c onnec tor.

    11.4.6 The FPC ta il must no t b e forcib ly stressed or bent too ha rd to avo id the

    c ond uc tion in the insula ted area a nd w ire b rea king.

    11.4.7 Touc h sc ree n must b e he ld from the bot tom suc h a s the structure g luing the

    touc h sc ree n onto the d isp lay. If the touc h sc reen is glued to the b ezel, the adhesion

    be twee n the top and bo ttom electrod es is stressed and ma y co me off.

    11.4.8 The area within 2mm from the insulat ion a rea is struc tura lly wee k for the pressure,

    espec ially for pen use. The film m ay be forcib ly bent a nd ma y ca use d efe c tion. This

    forbidd en a rea must be protecte d b y the bezel and input must be avoided .

    11.4.9 Mo st of the touc h sc ree ns ha ve the a ir vent to eq ua lize a ir p ressures inside and

    outside . Please d esign your mo unting b ezel so tha t the a ir vent is op en to avoid

    ab sorption of the liquid a cc umulate d nea r the a ir vent.

    11.5 Rec om me nded Hardwa re & Softw are

    points. The c ontroller software must no t b e designed to have the 2 po int input function.

    - For drawing a pp lic at ions, the line m ay be intermittent w hen the pen c om es on the

    dot spac ers. Softw are c om pensa tion is needed .
