Auxiliary hydraulicsoptions for greater versatility

A high-flow auxiliary hydraulic option provides the flow and pressure needed to run high-flowattachments. A 3,000 psi (207 bar), 31 gpm (117.3 lpm) high-flow auxiliaryhydraulic system is available for allmodels except the 410.

An optional hydraulic attachment quick coupler makes switchingattachments fast and simple withoutleaving the operator compartment. You can even add a second frontauxiliary hydraulics package to run a tree spade or cold planer.

There is also an optional electricauxiliary hydraulic control for easyfingertip control of attachments. Anine-pin electrical socket that controlsthe solenoid valves on the attachmentand a hydraulic motor case drain lineare also available.

You can depend on the Case 400Series Skid Steers for outstandingperformance, thanks to the powerplants at the heart of these models.

The 410 and 420 feature the 422/M24-cylinder,134 cubic inch (2.2 liter), Tier II certified engine that is quiet and powerful. A 40-amp alternatorprovides electrical power in the 410and 420 models.

A large displacement, high torqueengine powers the 430 and 440. The 445/M2 4-cylinder, 274 cubic inch (4.5 liter), Tier II certified engineoffers plenty of torque rise to get youthrough tough jobs. The 430 and 440feature a 95-amp alternator.

The engines in the 410 and 430 skidsteers are naturally aspirated, providingsmooth, economical operation.

Turbocharged engines in the 420 and440 provide additional torque and quickresponse. They are ideal for high-altitudeoperation, excavating, or running highhorsepower hydraulic attachments,such as cold planers or snowblowers.For running on optional tracks, workingin wet climates, or on hilly terrain, theturbocharged 420 and 440 Skid Steerscan’t be beat when you’re looking forhigh torque and immediate response ina compact package.

Engineered for low operating costs

The Case Family III engines on the 430 and 440 models figure well into

the low cost of ownership equation,getting the job done with low RPMs forless wear and longer life. The integralwater pump and oil cooler are easilyaccessed for service, getting you backon the job quickly. And piston oilcooling keeps the engine runningcooler for less wear on components.All skid steer engines feature a 500-hour oil change recommendation.

The balanced cooling system on the400 Series Skid Steers features an oilcooler next to the fan, helping to coolboth the engine and the hydraulic

system. A spark-arrestingmuffler is standard on all

400 Series Skid Steers.

Optional jump start terminals, combinedwith the master disconnect switch, aidin long-term storage, convenient coldweather starting and theft prevention.

An engine grid heater option is alsoavailable on the 430 and 440 modelsto aid cold weather engine start-ups.On the two smaller models, glow plugs are standard.

POWERTRAIN

Tandem servo-controlled hydrostaticdrive pumps are coupled directly to theengine flywheel, delivering 100 percentof available engine power to pumps andcomponents. Direct coupled hydraulicpumps prevent power loss and costlybelt maintenance. Hydrostatic motorsefficiently transfer power through extraheavy-duty drive chains. Heavy-duty,single-piece, forged, induction-hardened carbon steel axles ensurereliability. Lubed-for-life axle housingswith protective seal guards offer longlife and dependable performance.

Heavy-duty radial piston drive motorsoffer greater tractive effort, improvedreliability and efficiency. The 430 and440 models, equipped with the two-speed option, provide faster travelspeeds from a push-button two-speeddrive. These two machines acceleratefrom 7.3 mph (11.7 kph) in low rangeto 11.9 mph (19 kph) in high range.

Push-button brake activation

All Case 400 skid steers have push-button brake activation to allow operationof the loader arms without having to

steady the machine, an excellentfeature when working on slopes. Thespring-applied hydraulic release (SAHR)disc parking brake can be appliedthree ways: press the brake button onthe right-hand instrument panel, raisethe seat bar, or stop the engine.

Low-effort controls

The low-effort excavator-style controlsgive you precise control, improvingyour productivity. And the controlsswing away for easy entry and exit. For the ultimate in versatility, standardauxiliary hydraulics allow you to operatea wide range of attachments. A lockinglever for the foot pedal providesconstant hydraulic flow for backhoe or trencher work.

Pre-stressed drivechains for reliability

Heavy-duty, pre-stressed drive chainsare featured on all 400 Series SkidSteers. The chains on the 410 and 420 units are ASA #80. On the 430 and 440 models, the chains are ASA #100.

Case 400 Series Skid Steers aredesigned with features that helpprotect the operator, such as thestandard retractable seat belt andROPS/FOPS canopy with sidescreens. In addition to serving as anarmrest, the seat bar locks out thedrive system and loader control levers,and engages the parking brake whenraised. There is a comfortable operatorenvironment to suit every preference:

ROPS/FOPS The standard ROPS/FOPS has side screens and a rearwindow. For overhead protection from the elements, add the topwindow. Or, if you’d like a little more protection on the sides, add the sliding side windows.

Cab/FOPS This deluxe cab optionincludes heat, sound pads, front door,and top and side windows.

The premium deluxe cab optionincludes a heater and air conditioning,sound pads, front door, and top andside windows. Available on the 430and 440 models only.

Easy in, easy out

The 400 Series Skid Steers offer easyentry and exit. Low-effort servo-hydrostatic controls swing away.

A standard vinyl water-shedding seat(suspension seat optional) keeps youcomfortable during long days on the job.

For operator protection in certainapplications, a Lexan® shatter-resistantfront door is available.

Instrumentation, visibility

Easy-to-read instrumentation is well-positioned on all 400 Series models.Now located on the right upright postfor better visibility to the bucket, thesepanels are at the operator’s line ofsight for quick reference to systemfunctions. The push-button park brakeis located in this instrument panel.Overall, visibility is exceptional fromthe 400 Series seat. You can easily see the bucket, tires and curb line.

cleaner. Swing out the rear servicedoor for a quick check of the coolantand hydraulic oil levels. And you’llappreciate how easy it is to clean the cooling system.
