Caterpillar is pleased to announce the availability of the new F Series Backhoe Loader Center Pivot (BHL-CP) range of machines. Building on the success of the E Series BHL-CP range introduced in 2006, the F Series will provide customers with improved performance, visibility, durability and serviceability as well as continuing to offer an engine emission solution to meet the requirements of Lesser Regulated Countries.

Marketing Strategy The new BHL-CP F Series range of machines are being introduced to meet the requirements of engine emissions and at the same time the F Series will build on the success of the E Series range of machines and provide customers and operators with improved performance, controllability and service access increasing productivity, operator comfort and convenience. These changes are being made in response to customer, dealer and business requirements and will better position the range of Cat backhoe loaders in the APD and AME markets. Key Features & Benefits Loader End - New single tilt and parallel arms designed for increase in performance and ease of operation

• Increased loader arm lift height and dump height for improved performance • Improved visibility over the engine hood to the front bucket or loader coupler • Improved loader performance with increased lift capacities and dump height • Improved material retention on parallel lift machine

Driveline – Improved loading and roading performance for increased machine productivity

• The 420F now has a stiffer (2.4:1) torque converter for improved loading and roading performance.

• The 416F has now been upgraded to hydraulically boosted brakes Hydraulics – Improved controllability and lower owning and operating costs

• A new electronic torque limiter on the 420F & 430F improves hydraulic performance and power management

• Revised hoe spool tuning provides the operator with improved controllability • New larger hydraulic filter will increase service life. The environmentally friendly

replaceable cartridge can be easily disposed of or incinerated. • New hydraulic tank with suction strainer improves machine reliability

Electrical system improvements for increased operator convenience

• Batteries located in nose of machine provide space for right hand side storage box • New remote jump-start provides operator convenience in the event of a dead battery. • Product Link now available as a factory fitted option.

Machine improvements for increased operator comfort and convenience

• A new composite fuel tank will not rust and reduces condensation improving quality and reliability.

• Improved larger storage box for increased operator convenience • Fender footstep improves service access when implementing daily checks • New one-piece counterweights for improved stability

Serviceability – improved service access for ease of access to machine components

• New Hinged Cooling pack for improved access and serviceability • New engine side panels that require no tools to remove them, for improved access under

the hood.

Ordering Guide Price lists will be available for the new 416F, 420F & 430F on the 30th September 2011 and the order board will be opened on the 3rd October 2011. All F Series models will continue to be built at the Leicester facility only. The loader and backhoe hydraulics are now combined in the price list. Two batteries are now part of the cold weather package Optional Fuel tank guards are available for severe duty operations. Serial Number Prefix

Production First production of the BHL F Series range of machines will be in March 2012 in Leicester, UK with first shipment in April 2012. Availability The order board for F-series models will open on the 3rd October 2011 and will be managed through the local DSD order entry group for first ship in April 2012. Pricing There will be a dealer net price increase of up to 2% related to features and benefits of the F Series NPI, which excludes any impact from simplification and standardization changes that have been made.
