Luke C. Henry, PhD

Luke Henry graduated from the University of Montreal in 2011 with his doctorate in

Clinical Neuropsychology with a research focus in sports concussion. He completed his

internship in the neuropsychology division at the Allen Memorial Institute of the Royal

Victoria Hospital, affiliated with McGill University in Montreal. He focused his research

on sports concussions using two different neuroimaging techniques: magnetic

resonance spectroscopy and diffusion tensor imaging. His dissertation examined

changes in the brains of concussed athletes during the subacute and chronic post-injury

phases using the aforementioned techniques. Upon completion of his doctorate, Luke

was recruited to join the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program as a

neuropsychology fellow. Upon completion of his fellowship, Luke was hired as faculty

where he is heavily involved in research as well as clinical care. He has authored many

peer-reviewed publications on neuroimaging and clinical aspects of concussion along

with several chapters and review papers and an annually updated concussion

monograph published by the British Medical Journal. His current research includes

investigating affective factors in recovery as well as neuroimaging correlates of

concussion. Clinically, he specializes in pediatric assessment in the treatment and

management of concussion. Luke currently resides in Pittsburgh.
