reating a Time apsule
A time capsule is a sealed container holding itemsthat give people in the future a record of a particulartime period. It's like sending a message into the future.
In pairs, you are going tocreate a time capsule and willpresent it orally in front of therest of your classmates.
There are four tasks to be done:
1. The time capsule itself the container and the items you will include in it!.". The written part an essay telling the reader about your time capsule!#. The oral part remember you cannot read, so rehearse at home and come to class
and speak as naturally as possible!$. The slide presentation it can be a %ower%oint file or any other visual support!
Aspects to include in your oral presentation:
&tate the purpose who is the time capsule for', what do you want to show' ! &how, e(plain and )ustify the choice of both the container and the items you
have put in your time capsule there should be a minimum of twelve items!. *inally, say where you will place it and when it is supposed to be retrieved.
Language tip: +ou will be describing and )ustifying your choice of items so you will use the
Present Simple tense. +ou will also need to use the Future Simple tense when e(plaining where the time capsule will beplaced and when it will be retrieved.
Timing tip: +our oral presentation will last between 1 and 1- minutes. oth members will talk
e/ually. %repare and rehearse at home in front of friends0classmates. emember that at the end ofyour presentation there will be five e(tra minutes in case the audience wants to ask any /uestions.
Aspects to include in your slide presentation:
Explain the process you have gone through (the steps) before starting the timecapsule.
Add a picture of each item you have included in the time capsule.
Bring your time capsule to school and show it to your classmates.
