• The following two options can be selected: » All clients obtain the same amount of airtime

» Clients with newer Wi-Fi standards are given a slight

preference in airtime

• With both options, administrators are able to increase overall network throughput without sacrificing the support of legacy clients

BAND STEERING


• Steer clients that can operate in the 5GHz band away from 2.4GHz and towards 5GHz networks

• Aggressive Mode - If a dual-band client knows the

2.4GHz SSID and makes the connection manually, the AP can reject the association request

OPTIMAL CLIENT FILTERING


• Thresholds to filter out clients that will negatively impact the AP’s overall throughput:

» Transmission Rate Threshold

» Receiving RSSI Threshold

» Dropped Packet Threshold

MULTICAST TO UNICAST CONVERSION


• Multicast to Unicast Conversion is ideal when the majority of clients are densely packed around APs » Unicast is more efficient when clients are close to an AP, since high transmission rates can be more easily sustained

WMM (WI-FI MULTIMEDIA)


• WMM prioritizes traffic according to four different queues to provide fundamental QoS functionality to wireless network

LAYER 2 FIREWALL


• Prevents specific types of unnecessary traffic from entering the wireless medium, reducing interference and enhancing overall wireless throughput

• Malicious traffic from wireless clients can be blocked, limiting the amount of potential damage

STATION ISOLATION
