KATE BOSWORTH
The Superman Returns and The Art of
More actress, 34, stars Nov. 7 in the National Geographic Channel’s series The Long Road Home. It’s based on a real-life ambush of U.S. forces occupy-ing Iraq, an event that came to be called “Black Sunday.” Bosworth plays Gina Denomy, one of the Army wives waiting for news back home in Texas.Tell us about your character, Gina. She had just given birth to her son a day or two before her husband [Captain Denomy, played by Jason Ritter] deployed. She’s trying to keep it all together under extraordinary circum-stances. My character is part of a group that if there was a fallen soldier, she would go to the home to support and care for the widow.
You’ve got a grown stepdaughter, Jasper,
with your writer/director husband, Michael
Polish, and you’ve said you’d love to have
children of your own “soonish.” Love, family and home are everything to me. I’m lucky in that it all connects, that I have a partner that can totally support me as an artist, as do I with him. Family, for me, is number one.
What does living in Montana give you that
you don’t get in L.A.? I grew up riding horses and I loved big sky, wide-open fields and rid-ing through them. It really is very meditative to me, and it’s very creatively inspiring. Having space is very important as an artist.
Does the new movie Lady Bird have
anything to do with Lady Bird Johnson?
—Eileen D., Columbus, OhioA: Not at all. Lady Bird, a crack-ling coming-of-age comedy from writer-director Greta Gerwig, 34, stars Saoirse Ronan, 23, as Christine “Lady Bird” McPherson, a young woman whose ambitions are too big for her California hometown. The movie, in select theaters this weekend and opening wider through Thanksgiving, has been getting rave reviews and was inspired by events from Gerwig’s own teen years in Sacramento. You may remember Ronan from her Oscar-nominated role in Brooklyn and Gerwig from 20th Century Women.
Roll OnTo celebrate the 50th anniversary of Rolling Stone
magazine, HBO chronicles the iconic publication through a five-decade prism of music, politics and popu-lar culture. The two-night special Rolling Stone: Stories From the Edge begins Nov. 6. Here are five facts about the magazine, launched in San Francisco in 1967.
Founder Jann Wenner borrowed $7,500 from his family for startup money.
The blues song “Rollin’ Stone,” recorded by Muddy Waters, partly inspired the magazine’s name.
An image of John Lennon from his movie How I Won the War was the cover photo on the first issue—and the Beatles, individually or as a group, have appeared on the cover more than 30 times.
Rolling Stone contributor Hunter S. Thompson is credited as the originator of “gonzo journalism.”
The magazine doesn’t always get it right. It retracted a Nov. 19, 2014, story about an alleged gang rape on the campus of the University of Virginia and was court-ordered to settle a defamation lawsuit.

Which of her films do mothers say is still an inspiration to their daughters?

SMILF (Nov. 5), the new Showtime comedy series created by and starring Mr. Robot actress Frankie
Shaw, 30, is partially based on her life as a struggling, 20-something single mom. The S in the title stands for “single,” and the MILF . . . well, if you don’t know, look it up. “I was actually really sick of being a broke actress with a toddler, so I wrote a script,” says Shaw, who has also appeared on TV’s Good Girls Revolt and Mixology.

WALTER SCOTT’S
5DADDY ISSUESWith three kids of his own, Will
Ferrell, 50, admits there’s some resemblance between him and the character he plays in Daddy’s Home, Brad, which he reprises in the comedy sequel Daddy’s Home 2 (Nov. 10). This time, dads Brad and Dusty (Mark Wahlberg)
join fathering forces to give their kids
the perfect Christmas. But they must contend with
surprise visits from Dusty’s old-
school, macho dad (Mel Gibson) and Brad’s softer, more emotional papa (John Lithgow)—who throw the holiday into complete chaos. And, of course, there’s an appear-ance by this issue’s cover guy, John Cena (see page 10).

Fascinated by the Kennedys? Then Chris Matthews, the an-chor of MSNBC’s Hardball, is your man. He's written several
books about JFK, and now, with Bobby Kennedy:
A Raging Spirit (Simon & Schuster, $29), he takes on RFK. Here Mat-
thews shares three books on past and present topics dear to his heart.
Unbelievable (Dey Street Books), $27 “My NBC colleague Katy Tur describes in witty, up-close-and-personal detail what it was like covering presidential candidate Donald Trump from long shot to victor.”
Grant (Random House), $40 “Ron Chernow, who authored Alexander Hamilton, the biog-raphy that became
the hit Broadway musical, has brought to life an even greater American: Ulysses S. Grant.”
Leonardo da Vinci (Simon & Schuster), $35 “Through six centuries, the art-ist’s paintings—the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper—remain our most popular. Walter Isaacson, today’s author of genius, shows us Leonardo’s note-books and the potential of our own curiosity.”

If you are one of the 48 million Americans suffering from hearing loss, we have great news for you. An innovative team of doctors and engineers have teamed up to create a truly revolutionary personal sound amplifier. There’s no hassle with trips to the audiologist, hearing tests or costs as much as $5,000. Nor is it a cheap amplifier that just makes everything louder, making it virtually impossible to hear conversations. It’s Perfect Choice HD UltraTM… and it may be the perfect solution for you. Perfect Choice HD UltraTM is the first PSAP that features Dynamic Speech Optimization (DSO). This technology enables the device to prioritize the spoken word over other sounds. These noises are generally in different frequencies than voices, but they can drown out the words and make conversations hard to understand. This invention targets the frequencies of the human voice and amplifies the words. It’s even designed to diminish feedback even at higher volumes, so you can customize your hearing experience to meet your needs. Just imagine how great it will feel to be able to understand what people are saying… the first time they say it.
That’s only the beginning. This unit is small and lightweight at less than an ounce, so it hides discreetly and comfortably behind your ear. The only way people will know you have it on is if you tell them. Plus, its moisture resistant coating makes it durable– you could even leave it in when you take a shower! There’s no fitting or hearing test required, so it’s ready to use right out of the box. Once it’s arrived, a helpful product expert will provide a one-on-one set up over the phone so you’ll get the maximum benefit from this new technology. Call now, and you’ll find out for yourself why so many people love their Perfect Choice HD UltraTM. Call now, and be sure and ask about special discounts for Seniors and Military personnel.

SWEET POTATO WEDGES WITH TAHINI & SCALLIONS Prepare the dressing up to two days ahead and refrigerate; let it come to room temperature while the sweet potatoes roast.Preheat oven to 400°F. Cut each of 3 large sweet
potatoes into 8 wedges. Combine sweet potatoes with ¼ cup olive oil and 1 tsp kosher salt, tossing to coat. Arrange wedges, flesh side down, in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast 15 minutes, turn and roast 10 minutes, or until browned on all sides and creamy in center. In a small bowl, whisk together 1⁄3 cup tahini, ¼ cup honey, juice of 2 lemons, 2 tsp toasted sesame
oil and ¼ tsp kosher salt. If dressing seems too thick, whisk in a little water to loosen it up. Arrange roasted sweet potatoes in a single layer on a serving platter; drizzle liberally with dressing. Sprinkle with ¼ cup thinly sliced scallion (green part only), ¼ cup chopped cilantro, ¼ cup chopped mint and 1 Tbsp sesame seeds; serve at room temperature with any extra dressing on the side. Serves 6.

Preheat oven to 400ºF. Scrub 3 medium red beets; wrap in foil, place on a baking sheet. Roast 45–50 minutes or until a knife slides into them easily. Remove from oven. Cool, peel and chop beets. Set aside. Prepare 1½ cups barley according to package directions. Place 1 cup beets, ¼ cup water, ½ tsp sugar, ½ tsp kosher salt and black pepper to taste in a blender; puree. Combine beet puree and barley in a large bowl. Mix in remaining beets, 1 cup dried cranberries, 1 cup halved red grapes, ½ cup chopped toasted pecans and 2 Tbsp chopped tarragon. Season with salt and pepper. Place 1 cup balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 10–12 minutes or until vinegar is reduced by more than half and is a thick, syrupy consistency. Remove from heat. To serve, drizzle barley mixture with balsamic reduction; sprinkle with additional pecans and tarragon. Serves 8–10.

ohn Cena made quite an impression when he ap-
peared astride a thunder-ing motorcycle in the movie
Daddy’s Home two years ago. “He’s got legs for arms,” said Will Fer-rell’s character, marveling at the wrestler-turned-actor’s 6-foot-1, bulked-up, 250-pound frame.
But Cena, 40, who also stars in Daddy’s Home 2 (Nov. 10), wasn’t always the stuff of wonder. Long before he was a wrestling super-star, a movie hunk, the voice of a bull (Ferdinand, Dec. 15) and the guy at the top of the wish list for kids who seriously need some-thing to look forward to, he was just another scrappy little boy growing up with big dreams.
“I always had imaginative aspi-rations, from being a rock star to being a wrestling world champion to winning the World Series,” he says of his childhood in West Newbury, Mass., where he grew up as one of five sons born to Carol and John Cena (who worked at one time as a wrestling promoter).
Particularly captivated as a teen by hip-hop and rap culture, Cena remembers rhyming like his idols—and often dressing like them. Picture “MC Hammer and Kid ’n Play on a collision course,” he says. “Hair stuck straight up, dyed at the top . . . I had the rayon pants—mustard polka dot—and the airbrushed overalls.”
So what did other kids think of that? “I got my ass kicked every day!” he says with a laugh. But “it kinda made me who I am.” After one of those beat-downs, Cena begged his dad, “Hey, man, please buy me a set of weights.”
He’s been building his muscles as well as his career ever since.
NEVER GIVE UPThe second oldest of his siblings, Cena was the first of his broth-ers to work out and get into sports, and that drive carried him through Massachusetts’ Spring-field College, where he earned a degree in kinesiology and exer-cise physiology. He enrolled in
By Amy Spencer • Cover & opening images by Melanie Dunea
never gives up in the ring, on the screen or on others in need.
JOHN CENA
HTenderwrestling school in California in
1999 and later in Kentucky, and
he created a Terminator-esque
character for himself called the
Prototype. “It was a disaster.” He
laughs. “Totally unsuccessful.”
For his 2002 debut on World
Wrestling Entertainment’s Smack-
Down!, he started from scratch as
himself. “That was also a disaster,”
he says. So he crafted an over-the-
top, Vanilla Ice–like rap persona.
That became his breakthrough. He
was soon a fan favorite.
Now, 15 years into his WWE
career, he’s won 25 wrestling
championships and is a 16-time
world champion—and along the
way, he even released a platinum-
selling rap album, You Can’t See Me.
“How did I make it? Never gave
up,” he says. That’s how he landed
on the “Never Give Up” mantra
that became his in-the-ring catch-
phrase.
In 2006, like wrestling’s Dwayne
“The Rock” Johnson before him,
he expanded his pro career into
film and TV, beginning with the
WWE-produced action feature
The Marine and working his way
into comedies. He appeared in
Sisters with Tina Fey and Amy
Poehler and in Trainwreck with
Amy Schumer. He hosted Sat-
urday Night Live and the reality
competition show American Grit.
“I love the challenge of telling
a story,” he says. Which is why he
was thrilled to take on an even big-
ger role in Daddy’s Home 2 along-
side returning stars Ferrell and
Mark Wahlberg, plus Mel Gibson
and John Lithgow.
Cena expands on his small
role as Roger, the “cool dad” who
threatens Ferrell’s and Wahlberg’s
sense of paternal security. “This
badass guy,” he says with a grin,
“who’s just gonna throw a monkey
wrench into the whole family.”
BULLISH ON CHARITYNext month Cena will star as the
animated lead in Ferdinand, a role
he seems destined to play, as the
bull in a tale based on a children’s
book. “I have been living the sto-
ry of Ferdinand my entire life,” he
says, explaining how he relates to
“the fighting bull . . . who’s just not
a fighter.” While Cena can de-
stroy it in the ring, his big, warm
heart melts for charity.
He’s most devoted to the
Make-A-Wish Foundation. Cena
has donated millions of his fre-
quent flyer miles to the organi-
zation, which grants wishes to
children diagnosed with life-
threatening medical conditions,
and he has personally granted

&
some 575 wishes—the most ever in the foundation’s history. Many of the Make-A-Wish kids simply want to see their hero up close and in person, in action at a wrestling match, and meet him afterward.
“The excitement, it’s inde-scribable,” he says of fulfilling these Make-A-Wish dreams. “That I’m at the very end of the story, as the wish? That’s absurd to think about.”
When the WWE hosts char-
ity Tribute to the Troops events, Cena regularly travels to Iraq or Afghanistan to perform for the armed forces. “They are my heroes,” he says. He also jumps aboard when the WWE works with the Susan G. Komen foun-dation for breast cancer, and this year, he began working with the Bill & Melinda Gates Founda-tion and Rotary International to raise $500 million to fight polio.
Cena was particularly hon-ored to be part of a recent Love Has No Labels public service campaign about how patrio-tism means inclusion of all races, religions, genders, sexual orientations, ages and abilities. “[America’s] banner says we’re a melting pot—but often people
get agitated and think differ-ently.” Cena’s message was so powerful, in fact, it won a Cre-ative Arts Emmy. His ability to open minds and change lives is what brings him back to giving, again and again.
“We all have to earn a liv-ing, but if you can also affect people? That’s a good deal,” he says. “It gives me the feeling like, yeah, I’m in the right place and I’m doing the right thing with my life.”
‘SHE’S MY HOME’One of the right places for Cena is his house in Tampa, Fla., where he lives with his fiancée, Nicole Garcia-Colace, 33, a fellow wrestler and sea-son 25 Dancing With the Stars competitor known profession-ally as Nikki Bella. The pair met crossing paths at WWE events; he finally approached her and they began dating in 2012. Their romance is docu-mented on the E! reality show Total Bellas, about Nikki and her twin sister, Brie. This April, Cena proposed to Garcia-Col-ace in the ring at WrestleMania. They’re still working out the wedding details, though Cena says, “I keep telling her, I’ll

do it tomorrow—I’m ready.” Garcia-Colace brings out Cena’s soft
side. “In the WWE, oftentimes you want people to think, like, ‘Oh, I’m a tough guy.’ ” But now, he says, he knows “a tough guy is somebody who can hold a woman’s hand.”
And he’s also been squeezing lan-guage and music lessons into his schedule. Through the WWE’s free second-language program, he’s been learning Mandarin Chinese. China “was the only place where WWE was not,” he says—but “we are now.”
Inspired by how far he came in learning
one new skill, he set his sights on another: learning to play piano. “I tell myself, ‘You can surf the web for 15 minutes, or put the time towards a skill.’ What am I gonna learn in 15 minutes? Your first 15 minutes, maybe where the middle C note is. But after about 125 hours, you learn how to play the piano.” His favorite tune at the keys these days is a Maxence Cyrin cover of the Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind.”
With all this wrestling, acting, giving, romance, language-learning and music, is there anything Cena’s not good at? He can’t cook or sing. But, he says, “I’m trying each day, just like everybody, to get a little better.”
And true to his mantra, he never gives up.
“She’s my home,” Cena says of fiancée Nicole Garcia-Colace.

A Salute to Those Who Serve
Veterans Day (Nov. 11) is an opportunity to pay tribute to our military heroes, includ-ing Medal of Honor winners.
“Without service and sacrifice, we would not have the nation that we do today,” says Lance Cpl. William Kyle Carpenter, 28, who received the Medal of Honor, the nation’s highest military honor
awarded for valor in combat, for taking the brunt of a grenade blast to save a fellow Marine while serving in Afghanistan in 2010.
Today, there are 72 living Medal of Honor winners.
With the goal of honoring these heroes, as well as those who came before them, the Na-tional Medal of Honor Museum (mohmuseum.org), due to open in late 2020 or early 2021, is being built at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, S.C.
Mark Updegrove, the mu-seum’s CEO, says he hopes it will be a place for future generations to learn about and celebrate brave veterans’ stories.

Settlements have been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging that consumers sustained economic losses because they purchased or leased vehicles from various auto companies that manufactured, distributed, or sold vehicles containing allegedly defective airbags manufactured by Takata Corporation and its affiliates. The Settlements include certain vehicles made by Honda and Nissan (the “Subject Vehicles”). Honda and Nissan deny any and all allegations of wrongdoing and the Court has not decided who is right.
If you have already received a separate recall notice for your Honda or Nissan vehicle and have not yet had your Takata airbag repaired, you should do so as soon as possible. When recalled Takata airbags deploy, they may spray metal debris toward vehicle occupants and may cause serious injury. Please see your original recall notices and www.AirBagRecall.com for further details.
Am I included in the proposed Settlements? The Settlements include the following persons and entities:
• Owners or lessees, as of September 19, 2017, of a Subject Vehicle that was distributed for sale or lease in the United States or any of its territories or possessions, and
• Former owners or lessees of a Honda Subject Vehicle that was distributed for sale or lease in the United States or any of its territories or possessions, who, between November 11, 2008 and September 19, 2017, sold or returned pursuant to a lease, a Subject Vehicle that was recalled before September 19, 2017, or
• Former owners or lessees of a Nissan Subject Vehicle that was distributed for sale or lease in the United States or any of its territories or possessions, who, between April 11, 2013 and September 19, 2017, sold or returned pursuant to a lease, a Subject Vehicle that was recalled before September 19, 2017.
A full list of the Honda and Nissan Subject Vehicles can be found at www.AutoAirbagSettlement.com. The Settlements do not involve claims of personal injury.
What do the Settlements provide? Honda and Nissan have agreed to Settlements with a combined value of approximately $703 million, including a 10% credit for the Nissan Rental Car/Loaner Program and a 20% credit for the Honda Enhanced Rental Car/Loaner Program. The Settlement Funds will be used to pay for Settlement benefits and cover the costs of the Settlements over an approximately four-year period.
The Settlements offer several benefits for Class Members, including (1) payments for certain out-of-pocket expenses incurred related to a Takata airbag recall of a Subject Vehicle, (2) a Rental Car/Loaner Program while certain Subject Vehicles are awaiting repair, (3) an Outreach Program to maximize completion of the recall remedy, (4) additional cash payments to Class Members from residual settlement funds, if any remain, and (5) a Customer Support Program to help with repairs associated with affected Takata airbag inflators and their replacements. The Settlement website explains each of these benefits in detail.
How can I get a Payment? You must file a claim to receive a payment during the first four years of the Settlements. If you still own or lease a Subject Vehicle, you must also bring it to an authorized dealership for the recall remedy, as directed by a recall notice, if you have not already done so. Visit the website and file a claim online or download one and file by mail. The deadline to file a claim will be at least one year from the date the Settlements are finalized and will be posted on the website when it’s known.
What are my other options? If you do not want to be legally bound by the Settlements, you must exclude yourself by January 8, 2018. If you do not exclude yourself, you will release any claims you may have against Honda and Nissan, in exchange for certain settlement benefits. The potential available benefits are more fully described in the Settlements, available at the settlement website. You may object to the Settlements by January 8, 2018. You cannot both exclude yourself from, and object to, the Settlements. The Long Form Notices for each Settlement available on the website listed below explain how to exclude yourself or object. The Court will hold a fairness hearing on February 7, 2018 to consider whether to finally approve the Settlements and a request for attorneys’ fees of up to 30% of the total Settlement Amount and incentive awards of $5,000 for each of the Class Representatives. You may appear at the fairness hearing, either by yourself or through an attorney hired by you, but you don’t have to. For more information, including the relief, eligibility and release of claims, in English or Spanish, call or visit the website below.
If you are a current or former owner or lessee of certain Honda and Nissan vehicles, you could get cash and other benefits from a class action settlement.

GET ENERGIZED Silicon Valley tech giants and digital startups are leaders in workplace health. That may be thanks to their em-ployee pool of millennials, who’ve been vocal about how work, fun and health should mix.
At its campus in Mountain View, Calif., Google offers everything from kickboxing and on-site swimming pools to a slide for people who want an energy thrill getting from floor to floor. Over in the company quad at Zappos,
you’ll see people playing tetherball, volleyball and shooting hoops on Recess Tuesdays. On other days, as part of Zappos’ Wellness Adventures initiative, wellness coordinators randomly pull people away from their work to go and do something fun instead. It could be trampolining, laser tag or taking a quick golf lesson.

level of how you sit, work and stand during the day,” says Michael Roizen, M.D., chief wellness officer at the Cleveland Clinic’s Well-ness Institute. Treadmill desks are his favorite. “Chick-fil-A’s Wellness Center has treadmill-desk rooms, where you just sign up, take your laptop and walk while you work.” Roizen practices what he preaches: “When I jump on a conference call, I jump on my own treadmill desk.”
TAKE A NAP Remember when sleeping on the job was a no-no? The truth is, 29 percent of workers fess up that they’ve literally fall-en asleep or become very sleepy at work, according to the National Sleep Foun-dation. But all it takes is a 20-minute nap to rejuve-
nate and get your energy back. Forward-thinking companies today encour-age rest and relaxation at work, providing employees with everything from sleep nooks, high-tech power-nap pods and relaxation booths to silent meditation and mindfulness rooms.
At Capital One, sleep is key. “We believe in the power of relaxation to rejuvenate and
recharge, which is why we have nooks and crannies optimizing every square foot to create hideaways offering a sense of sanctu-ary,” says Michelle Clever-don, workplace strategist for Workplace Solutions at Capital One. At its C1 Labs in San Francisco, sleep nooks reached by ladders take advantage of lofty ceil-ing space.
BUST STRESS “Work stress is such a critical issue,” says Cleveland Clinic’s Roizen, “that busi-nesses and companies who take measures to implement stress relief in their wellness programs come out ahead—not just with heathier workers and reduced health costs, but more loyal workers who love their jobs.”
To help combat stress at work, Roizen wants employers to focus on reducing stress and related mental health issues and pay more attention to the physical workspace: noise, air quality, lighting and overall office ergonomics, which alone or in combina-tion can cause stress and discomfort, detrimentally impacting a person’s ability to be healthy at work and at home, let alone focus on being productive.
TAKE A PLANT TO WORKAdding greenery purifies stale air, especially from
furniture, which can “off-gas” formaldehyde.
The best low-maintenance plants: spider plants and philodendrons.
TO THRIVE AT WORK5 WAYS
Sleep pods let workers take breaks to get some energizing shut-eye.
Imagine a workplace culture that promotes not just physical and mental health, but thriving in life as well as work. More and more companies are doing just that, says Renee Moorefield, chair of the Wellness at Work
initiative at the Global Wellness Institute and founder of the firm Wisdom Works. She’s helped global brands including Coca-Cola, Nike and Merck expand their workplace wellness programs beyond health checks, gym mem-berships and weight-loss support to actually create a less stressed and happier workforce. When that happens, Moorefield says, “People don’t just go home feeling better than when they showed up—they thrive.”
Companies that take their employees’ health seriously—and don’t just pay it lip service—benefit as well, says Ron Goetzel, director of the Institute for Health and Productivity Studies at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The Great Place to Work Institute found that the top 100 companies in the U.S. for workplace culture had 65 percent lower employee turnover. Plus, their stock market returns were two times higher than those of industry peers.
Here are some of the well-being boosters that forward-thinking companies and their leadership are embracing.

DISCOVERING YOUR FAMILY HISTORY:
3 Tips to get startedFor centuries, anyone who wanted to know more
about their ancestry had to rely on family bibles,
public records, and oral stories passed down
through generations. All that changed about 17
years ago when DNA testing became a tool for
genealogical research. Now, a simple cheek swab
opens the door to centuries of information— impervious
to human error, incomplete paper records, or misinfor-
mation. Thinking about getting started with your family
history? Here are 3 tips that can really help.
1. Think your family history is accurate?
Think again. Even if your family kept records, the
farther back you go in your family history, the more
imprecise the genealogical information becomes.
For example, centuries ago it was common for people
to invent noble lines of descent to make their family seem
more prestigious or to protect themselves from
political unrest. DNA testing for ancestry is the only
way to ensure you’re getting accurate information
about where you really came from.
2. Location, location, location. Prior to the 17th
century, the reliability of information in general
becomes unreliable. Families may assume they
have roots in Ireland, for example, when they
actually came from Denmark. When you can
specifically pinpoint precise locations where your
DNA originated and then migrated to, going back
1,000 years or more, whole new worlds for research
open up. So if you’re stuck on finding family from way
back, use DNA testing to help you find locations—
from there you can start working on people.
3. Not all DNA tests are the same. When you
invest in a DNA test for ancestry, do a little comparison
shopping. Cheaper doesn’t always mean you’re
getting the best value. Consider these features:
the number of DNA markers analyzed (the more,
the better); the number of gene pools and genetic
reference populations utilized for the analysis (again—
the more, the better-- greater numbers yield more
accurate results); the specificity of the test (does
the test provide pinpoint locations or only broader
geographic locales).

When an orchestra plays, the

they need a conductor?
—Dennis Conklin, Chesterton, Ind.A conductor is similar to the director of a play. His or her role is enormous, but much of it is carried out before the performance. The conductor is responsible for interpreting the intentions of the composer along with shaping the entire work, including the quality of the sound (mellow, moody, bright, etc.), the volume, timing and tone of the instruments, the energy of the work and coordinating all the various elements into a coherent whole.

Put on your TV•Ears headset and turn it up as loud as you want while others listen to the television at a comfortable volume. You can even put the TV on mute and listen through the headset only. Others in the room won’t hear a thing, but we guarantee you will. Voice Clarifying Circuitry® The TV•Ears headset contains proprietary Voice Clarifying Circuitry that automatically adjusts the audio curve to increase the clarity of television dialog while decreasing the volume of background sounds such as music and sound effects. The words seem to jump out of the audio track, making even whispers and accents understandable.
Fast, Safe and Simple. TV•Ears transmitters use Speed of Light Infrared Technology™ (SoLIT) to send the television’s audio to the headset. Unlike slower Bluetooth or Radio Frequency, SoLIT does not need to be paired or adjusted, is completely safe with pacemakers, and will not interfere with your telephone.
Twice the Power with 120 decibels. The TV•Ears headsets are classifi ed as “Assistive Listening Devices” for hearing-impaired individuals. This special designation permits the TV•Ears headset to have twice the maximum volume compared to all other wireless headsets.
