    Respected Seniors & friends,

The DOS annual conference held in the fairly pleasant April of 2012 was a 3 day celebration of Ophthalmology. In fact we had one of the coolest Aprils in over 2 decades. There were over 3500 delegates that attended 56 sessions held in various disciplines of ophthalmology. The theme was appropriately kept as Future of Ophthalmology Today and Femto-cataract and Femto-LASIK live surgery lived upto the claim of showing cutting edge technology. The live surgery also demonstrated pterygium, squint and trabeculectomy surgery and the technique of glued IOL. Besides eminent national speakers we

had many international faculty participating along with international delegates. The wet labs, DOS Quiz and the interactive sessions made the academic program very rewarding for all.

A very interesting social program in the lunch area with attractions such as a Puppet show, magic show, folk dances and other exciting activities which ran throughout the day were a big hit with the delegates and I am sure it will remain an attractive feature of future DOS conferences too. Delhi City Tours, a complimentary city sightseeing tours on AC buses was so popular that we could not satisfy everyone who was interested. A free metro pick and drop service was running throughout the day between the conference venue and the Race Course Road Metro station which helped to solve the massive parking problem to some extent.

!"Institute which was a treat for all.

Although I am sure you all have carried back numerous pleasant memories of this conference, I hope we can further improve over the next year with bigger, more academically satisfying and rewarding activities.

We are of course always open to criticism, advice and feedback.

Thank you all for your contribution in making the Annual Conference a big success.

    With best wishes,

    &'Secretary, &
