The temple remarks chivalry of the different dynasties like Chola, Pandya, Hoysala and Vijayanagar, who ruled this part between 9th and 16th century AD. The temple has 21 towers including 1000 pillared hall with sculptures of riding horses. Jagannath Temple, Puri Jagannath TempleJagannath Temple is one of the four Dhams of Hindu religion. The temple has got special emphasis in ancient Hindu religious scriptures. It is situated in a town of Odissa, an Indian state. The two deities, Balaram and Jagannath along with their sister Subhadra and some other deities are located in the main temple. This is the world’s first complete granite made temple. The temple signifies the height achieved by the Chola Kings in the field of architecture. It is built by the Tamil emperor Arunomolivarman (Rajaraja Chola I) in 1002 CE. Somnath Temple, Gujrat Somnath TempleSomnath Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples of deity Shiva. From historical point of view, this temple is very important. From ancient times, this temple is destroyed number of times by many rulers. Among those rulers Sultan Mahmud of Ghazny and Alauddin Khilji were prominent. The temple was first reconstructed in the year 649 CE. The last reconstruction took place in 1947. The temple’s main spire is 150 feet high. The Baan-Stambh on the sea protection wall is one of the important architecture of this temple.
