zNose®’s GC/SAW system uses a three-step process:

How the Systems Works

Sample is collected

and pumped through a capillary tube that

pre-concentrates vapors in a

trap while maintaining helium flow through the GC column to the SAW detector.

The rotary valve injects

trapped vapors into the helium carrier gas.

The released vapors travel

through the column and

the SAW detector

measures their

retention time and

frequency.

zNose® renders both accuracy and precision!

zNose® typically achieves 1-2% variation (RSD) in

readings.

SAW sensor determines drinking water levels by smelling the headspace vapors above a water

sample.

GC/SAW system can calibrate, using a single

mixture of standard analyte concentrations.

zNose is validated by U.S EPA and other governing

agencies.
