This kicks off the first point. Slide is meant to be only up for some seconds.4

No Attendees.No Event.

My ideas:

This should put attendees in the center of the event. Announce that they are crucial and valuable. And organizers should care about them.5

Participation is the new consumption.

Consumption:One way streetYou pay and get something in returnYou come to an event and get content from sponsors

Participation:Two way street / back and forth between organizers and attendeesEvent formats changeAttendees decideSession topicsRefreshmentsLocationsKeynotesMany more- Co-creation6

Its time to reimagine engagement at your events.

Objective:This is what viewers will learn

Involve new tools and new technologies.7

So that you can maximize the lifetime value of your attendees.

Benefit:- This is what viewers can achieve through the learnings

Lifetime value means attendees coming back every year. Attendees becoming ambassadors of your event. 8

Through the Power of mobile

We covered the why and will now move on to the how. We will give you 5 specific ways how you can use a mobile event application make sure your attendees are highly involved, make the most out of your event and come back every year!10

1. drive the physical through digitalEnsure that your attendees go home with meaningful new connections.

Features: Topic Channels and direct messaging

Why do people go to events?

Content & meeting new faces.

This essentially allows the attendees to meet the people they find important. Attendees do not rely on the organizer to connect them to interesting people through sessions. It takes the luck out of the equation.

Attendees can strategically go about meeting the right people and creating lasting relationships. 11

1. drive the physical through digitalCreate hybrid activities that use mobile to trigger action in the physical world.

Use digital to create action in the physical world

Events are not only about the content, but also about the people you meet.Through these fun aspects, networking elements last longer than the time of the event.

Regardless of the event being internal or external, there are endless possibilities of tying fun activities, that connect people and break the ice, to event and company goals.12

2. Personalize the event experienceDeliver relevant content at the right time and place through location-based messages.

Reach attendees at times and locations that are relevantBring together the offline and online experiencePersonalised event experienceReduce the noise through avoiding generic messages to the entire audience

Beacon Facts:Time sensitive (can be set up to deliver content at immediate connection, or when someone is in proximity for e.g. 2 minutes)Distance sensitive (radius of connectivity can be defined precisely)Based on Bluetooth, meaning attendees need to turn bluetooth on for beacon connections to work.

13

2. Personalize the event experienceAt the venue entrance, give a warm welcomeAt a booth, deliver sponsored content from exhibitorsIn adjacent transportation hubs, give attendees directions

Sponsored messages from exhibitors, we used this at the iAmsterdam eventThe last example, using beacons in trainstations, is from UBM14

3. encourage attendees to ParticipateGive attendees opportunities to impact the event in real-time.

We have had podiums discussions that were entirely driven by the outcome of polls. The poll results were integrated to presentations (do we have this feature??) and determined the direction the discussion was heading in.15

3. Encourage attendees to participateGather immediate feedback and apply it to make your event better.

Use cases:Are expensive speakers worth the money?

This allows the organizer to listen to attendees and respons, given the importance.

Average increase of response rate by 166%.

16

4. Spark friendly competitionIncentivize actions that are important for your event, such as participating in polls or completing surveys.

1st screenshot: The badges are just a very explicit way of reqarding attendees for desired behaviour, (mostly through a smile). Also these can be completely defined by the organizer. One could even imagine making this more meaningful and reward them e.g. specially for attending sessions, meaning they learned more etc. Or tie real prizes to holding a badge.

2nd screenshot: talk about taht the points associated to actions can be defined by the organizer.

All this draws on elements of gamification, that tend to make people want to be the best.17

4. Spark friendly competitionDisplay the most involved users and trigger the competition for becoming #1.

This reinforces the slide before. Activity in the app means connections & engagement for attendees, while organizers satisfy attendee expectations and gather the right data. The leaderboard increases activity in the app.18

5. Give your attendees a voice Allow everyone to like, comment and share their ideas.

The news feed is a common space for the organiser and attendees to shape a conversation, share ideas and ask questions.

Gives every attendee the power to talk to the entire audience. This is not reserved for keynotes, but enybody can share their ideas.

Creates a communityPuts names to faces

Especially for networking, you can let everyone know what people you are looking to meet and have them reach out.19

Bonus: Showcase it allDrive adoption and increase visibility of the conversation in your event app with Game Day.

Through game day you can showcase the entire conversation in the app through another channel, large tv screens, at your event. This serves at pulling those who have not downloaded your app yet to into the application. 20
