Debbie (EXTRA After school club)

COPENHAGEN EXTRA CLUBS

WORDS FROM THE TEAM

Breakfast club is a warm welcoming healthy club. The children enjoy a range of cereals and warm bagels. Breakfast club offers fun and rewarding learning activities and the children have a great start to their day at school.

Key benefits for breakfast club: Children are never late for class.

Few words from the children at Breakfast club:

Josh: “I like to make new friends and play fun games at breakfast club”.

Mya: “I like to write stories and helping others”.

At Copenhagen extra we have been planning a wide variety of clubs for after school. After school clubs give children the opportunity to develop skills and learn in a fun and exciting way. For example karate and drama, which have been very popular. We will also continue cooking. We would very much like to welcome any new children who would like to join us for some fun activities. Please keep a look out for the next terms clubs and activities for them to join. We hope everybody has a lovely restful holiday and we look forward to seeing you in the new term.

PARENTS /CARERS DATES We value you and the work that you already do with supporting your child’s learning.

HEADTEACHERS HOME LEARNING CHALLENGE

EASTER - 144 CLUB Get membership of the exclusive 144 club you will need to know all your Multiplication facts from 1X1 to 12 X12 To earn your certificate and become a proud member of this exclusive club, you need to prove that you have mastered your times tables and can recall all the facts (up to 12 x 12) extremely quickly. Learning multiplication facts is a vital part of any child’s mathematical development. Once rapid recall of multiplication facts becomes possible, a whole host of mathematical activities will seem easier. Children need to be able to recall multiplication facts in any order and also to derive associated division facts. The expectations for each year group are set out below: ALL YEAR GROUPS ARE INVITED TO THE 144 CLUB CHALLENGE.

I would like to thank Ms Clapham for the organization of the reading volunteers and Ms Begum our new Literacy Leader for presenting a really informative session for our volunteers on how to support our pupils with their reading. Our children really love reading aloud and I observed a session with Maxie in Y4 and it was amazing to see how much he gained from reading along with an adult. We have X volunteers and they have committed their lunchtimes to read with our children.
