Superior Ostrich

Shawn Davis became the chief operating officer of Superior Ostrich in 2015, charged with the responsibility of leading the Company to market. Utilizing more than twenty-five years of experience in the food industry, he is championing the revolution to lead consumers toward healthier choices for dairy and meat products.

Shawn was actively recruited by Superior Ostrich, the largest ostrich ranch in North America, due to his impressive record of success in both wholesale and retail operations. In his first year at the helm, he has already created three specialty divisions to service the food, fashion, and cosmetic/craft markets. This approach not only increases revenues, but achieves Superior’s goal for sustainable farming.

Thanks to Shawn’s relentless efforts, ostrich will soon be as commonplace as its closest competitors. In the coming months, Americans will likely begin to see the delicious, protein rich, red meat of the ostrich, as well as their behemoth eggs, in local grocery stores. They will also experience the benefits of nutrient-rich ostrich oil in their skin and hair care products, find more usage of ostrich leather and feathers in fashion, and see unique uses of ostrich products in crafting.

Nick Rubio started his tech company, Fatsack Outdoors, in 2014. His first endeavor as CEO was to develop a mobile application specifically for anglers. Angling, the sport of fishing for bass, is a huge industry reported to generate over forty billion dollars in the U.S. alone.

An angler himself, Nick grew tired of the complex manual tasks involved with the sport and knew what the market needed was a fully automated way to log catches, track supplies and equipment, check weather forecasts, and map fishing expeditions. While the app was in development, he began adding other essential features such as a store, a social media component, and streaming videos. The app took off and by 2015, had acquired over 10,000 downloads, many of which were pro anglers.

Complemented by Nick’s relentless promotion and networking, Fatsack is now one of the most widely used and recognized apps within its market.

Looking forward, Nick is considering many opportunities including licensing the app for use by big name brands and developing similar apps for other outdoor sports.

Andra Tomsa and her Spare app are making waves in the fintech industry. By combining ease of use and our human nature to help others, Spare aims to redefine the mobile donation space while simultaneously helping those who need it most.

The Spare app identifies food and beverage purchases made on a user’s registered debit or credit card and rounds them up to the nearest dollar. The spare change is automatically donated to charities that focus on the hunger crisis in New York City. Since the app's launch in September, Spare has provided more than 8,000 meals to hungry New Yorkers and has set a goal to close the hunger gap entirely.

Andra, whose background is in economic development, plans to take her crusade to other cities and has recently formed an elite national advisory board of socially conscious, successful individuals looking to advocate for Spare in their immediate networks. She has also formed relationships with several large, non-profit organizations and foreign government entities, who have expressed interest in white-labeling the technology for their own fundraising efforts.

Possibilities seem almost limitless for both Spare and Andra in 2016. One thing is for sure; you will see more of Andra. She is already booked for a dozen appearances at entrepreneurial conferences, education forums, and television broadcasts and will undoubtedly be a major influence in the non-profit sector.
