Sea to Sky Motorsports“We asked ourselves: ‘What coulda new building or renovation dofor us other than cost moneyand time?’ The obvious answer:the anticipated increase in business. The unexpected resultwas the improved outlook, motivation, and professionalismfrom our staff. Our walk-in andphone traffic are up significantly. It would take a lot of advertisingdollars to create this sameexcitement. Location improve-ments give you the same effectas advertising but you also havean asset left that adds to thevalue of the business.”

– Tammy Wengberg, owner

Moon Motorsports“We decided to build a new26,000-sq.-ft. facility on theinterstate to give us greater visibility and to offer more selection and a great retailshopping experience for powersports customers. We workedwith Miller Design to create ourdream store, concentrating oncreating a flow that was moreefficient. Incorporating our ideasand theirs, it all came togetherjust the way we wanted it andwith our new freeway exposure, our floor traffic is up considerablywith new customers.”

– Joel Erickson, owner

Maxim Power Sports“Location is key, which is whywe built our new building on themain highway with a clear line ofvision from nearby retailers.Next we wanted to be sure thenew building would have the“WOW” factor when customerscome in and that the interiordesign would flow and be moreefficient for both our customersand employees. Miller DesignGroup’s knowledge of designand layout brought our dreamto have the premier motorsports facility to reality.”

PolarisDealer StandardsFacility Standards:As a Polaris dealer, you benefit from our years of experience in creating and selling a top brand andpresenting it in a way that is planned, researched, and tested to sell merchandise. We know whatworks. We know what makes the ideal shopping experience for Polaris and Victory customers. Andwe can help you achieve it. The Exterior: Should be well maintained, with prominent, well-lit signagethat makes an impact, selling the brand every day and night to those passing by. The Interior: Theshowroom must have a minimum of 2,000 square feet, with separate areas dedicated to service and parts storage. The walls and floors should be completely finished and provide an attractivebackground to display merchandise. It has been proven that clean, well-lit and well-organized showrooms increase sales and customer satisfaction.

Store Hours: Recommended business hours: six days a week, including Saturdays.

Service – The Polaris Standard:Selling Polaris is the first step in the contract we make with our customers. Good service is the second step. A modern, clean, well-organized service area not only impresses current and potentialcustomers, it makes it easier for service people to do their best work. Polaris requires that every service area have:• A desktop computer with access to the Polaris dealer intranet.• A portable computer with print capability and Internet access that has the latest version of

Digital Wrench software installed.• A special Polaris tool board updated with current tools, all readily accessible to techs. • Service publications for the last three model years of all Polaris and Victory products you carry.• A forklift to easily load or unload products.

Staffing & Training – The Secret Ingredients:Product and presentation are extremely important, but people are key to dealer success. A well-informed, well-trained sales and technical staff make the difference. One good experiencemeans that when customers are ready to buy an ATV for their spouse, upgrade to a more powerfulmachine, or add a new Victory to their stable of sports vehicles, they come back to you. It’s a simplerule of business: It is easier to keep a good customer than to find a new one. For Staffing, Polaris recommends:• A Service Manager, with a minimum of one full-time certified technician for each product line.• A person with specific responsibilities for finance and insurance.• A specialist in high-margin Polaris parts, garments, and accessories.• A dedicated sales specialist with expert knowledge and special training on the Polaris or Victory

product line.

For Training, we support your staff with:• Complete Know the Way Out online training on each product line.• Master Service Dealer training and update school.• The Way Out Training Tour (WOTT) brings comprehensive training for ATVs to you.

Not available in all areas – talk to your DSM about WOTT.• Dealer Support or Ask Polaris are available to answer questions.

Once you have attracted customers into your store,

you have an opportunity to impress them with a great

shopping experience. Remember, 80% of buying

decisions are made in the showroom, so this is your

golden opportunity. First, create a store layout that

draws customers to various focal points and key

displays throughout the store. Good overall lighting is

critical, with special spotlights on important displays.

Wall space is valuable selling space. Use it to feature

gear and accessories, making it easy for customers to

find what they want. Use interior signage to identify

categories and reinforce brands.

Why are feature displays so important? Simple. They

are powerful tools to showcase powerful products.

They are a Silent Sales Force that engages your

customers, getting them to interact with your products.

Elevating snowmobiles and Victory motorcycles on

platforms is like putting them on stage and giving

them the star treatment. Showcasing ATVs on “rock”

formations reinforces the image of the rugged, off-

road performance of our sport and utility vehicles.

It’s not enough to just put a machine on the floor and

a sign on the door. We operate in a very competitive

retail environment with a knowledgeable, value-

conscious customer. You need to engage that customer

at the point of sale through strong feature displays.

Purchasing a new ATV, snowmobile, or motorcycle is

just the beginning. Ride gear and accessories are an

important part of the experience for riders, and are

often impulse purchases. Create strong selling areas

to merchandise these high-margin, high-profit

products. Begin with quality fixtures designed to

fit the merchandise, using a combination of both

Polaris/Victory fixtures and stock fixtures. Consider

every inch of wall space as premium selling space.

Organize your products by category, just the way your

customer likes to shop, and group by color for more

dramatic impact. Rotate the products frequently to

create new displays and take packaged merchandise

out of the plastic bags so customers feel free to pick

it up and touch it. It’s your retail advantage.
