5 Secrets to Get More Out of facebook Show Up: Sounds obvious, but the more you show up, the more you will get out of it. That means really showing up and engaging! Give: The easiest thing to give on facebook is acknowledgment. In 5 minutes you can like or comment on countless posts, pictures and links, wish someone a happy birthday and make someone’s day! When people take the time to post something, it’s because it matters to them! Just ‘noticing and acknowledging’ is a huge gift! (And don’t ever let anyone’s comment or message go unacknowledged! I don’t care how busy you are or famous you are! Never be too busy to respond to someone who took the time to connect with you) Share: People really do care what you say and do! This is hard for people to understand, but it’s true. Your friends like knowing what you are up to and sharing your life. Those who aren’t ‘real life’ friends, get to know you by what you share. You never know when your great news, botched dinner, ridiculously crazy day or the funny thing your kid said, will make someone smile, feel better about their day or just feel good because they feel a little closer to you. Never underestimate the value of your own story! Share things that you like with your friends! Even if you don’t go to Youtube, you can share videos that others’ post on FB with your friends. If you read a great article, share it. Look for ways to add value to others! Give: Give whatever you are good at! If you’re funny, share your wit by posting things that are funny. If you are a nurturer, look for ways to nurture someone who needs it. Give your gifts! AND Give credit to others for theirs! Use the @mention feature to give a shout out to someone who deserves it AND a link for others to find them on FB. Give them credit for great posts or links, for a great accomplishment, or for providing you with a great service (ie Mary Smith is the best massage therapist ever!). Receive: You don’t give TO receive, but when you give, you will receive! Be open to receiving. Be gracious, learn how to accept a compliment and always respond to those who give to you! When it comes to business, know how you serve others and then ask your friends to help you ‘serve more’. You have to ask to receive, but ask the right way, by offering value. 5 Secrets to Get More Out of facebook

Show Up: Sounds obvious, but the more you show up, the more you will get out of it. That

means really showing up and engaging!

Give: The easiest thing to give on facebook is acknowledgment. In 5 minutes you can like or

comment on countless posts, pictures and links, wish someone a happy birthday and make someone’s day! When people take the time to post something, it’s because it matters to them! Just ‘noticing and acknowledging’ is a huge gift! (And don’t ever let anyone’s comment or message go un‐acknowledged! I don’t care how busy you are or famous you are! Never be too busy to respond to someone who took the time to connect with you)

Share: People really do care what you say and do!
