What is the lifespan of the bearings?

These parts have a lifespan of approximately 150,000 Km or even more. However, this may be lower depending on external factors such as the weather, the state of the roads, bumping of the wheels on the curbs, entry of liquid, etc.

Why should they be replaced?

When acquiring play, wheel bearings can break and decompose making it possible to cause a fall of the bucket that holds the wheels. Worn, defecve or poor quality bearings endanger the safety of the vehicle and passengers.

When should they be replaced?

When the driver perceives noises coming from the wheels such as squeaks, rales, knocks, which become more acute as the vehicle's speed increases, they must be replaced. It is highly recommended to replace the bearing kits on both sides of the vehicle at the same me as they have suffered the same use. Also, having the vehicle elevated, it can be checked if the wheels have play by making small lateral and vercal movements, which would indicate a possible failure of the bearings.

5Wheel bearings are important high precision components that fulfill several funcons, some of them directly linked to the safety of the vehicle. Mainly they allow the axial and radial guidance of the wheels with a minimum resistance to its weight. That is, they allow the wheels to turn.

• between the wheel hub and the knuckle .• between the knuckle and the brake drum (if the vehicle has it).• integrated in the wheel hub itself, in the drum and even in the brake disc.

The bearings can be located:

Although there are different types of bearings, in general they consist of some rolling parts, a cage and two rings (internal and external).

For this reason it is important to choose a first quality bearing, manufactured according to the specificaons of the vehicle manufacturer to guarantee its correct operaon and to avoid failures in the electronic signal of these devices. The Cautex Wheel Bearing Kits are manufactured in accordance with the quality standards required by the original equipment.
