What the machine must do (choose ONE end task)

What your machine must include
• Four of the six simple machines• Inclined plane• Lever • Pulley •Wheel and axle•Wedge• Screw
Steps to follow
1. Think of a design 2. Draw the plan3. Write an
explanation of the plan
4. You can share your plan with your teacher
After your plan is approved
• Build and test your machine• This will take a lot of time to get it right. EXPECT to have to make adjustments to your prototypes until you work out all the problems. DO NOT GIVE UP!
Grading
• Drawn plan (25 pts.)• neat• approximately to scale• labeled
• Written explanation (25 pts.)• complete sentences with
correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation• in order of events from
beginning to end• Simple machine vocabulary
included and used correctly
• Verbal explanation (25 pts.)• clearly explained• spoken clearly and loud
enough to be heard from the back of the room• appropriate tone and
gestures• eye contact with audience,
NOT READING
• Successful demonstration (25 pts.)• the machine performs as it
should

• You may work alone or in groups
• No more than three people in a group.
• Everyone in the group will receive the exact same grade.
